PHILANTHROPY  :   Women Foundation, “Odinma Umuadaigbo”, Empowers Over 100 Widows,Indigent Women, Cautions Against Christmas Travel. See Video Below.

Formidable and Most Active Igbo Women Non – Governmental Organization, NGO, “Odinma Umuadaigbo Prestigious Women Foundation”, OUIPWF, an affiliate of Unique Diamond Women,has empowered over 100 women in Lagos State. 

In an unprecedented crowd pulling event, tagged ” Empowerment Of The Widows And Indigent Women In Our Midst And Around Us”, held last Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the prestigious Emglo Suites, located on 39A, Plot 2155,FESTAC link road, off Apple Junction ,Amuwo Odofin ,Lagos State, OUIPWF, indeed put smiles on the faces of women at the occasion.

 The end of the year party,which later  turned into a Mimi carnival and fiesta of some sort, provided the Organization, the much needed opportunity to counsel Nigerian women, especially Igbo women, on the issue of insecurity and warning them over embarking on unnecessary  Christmas travels  .

 Reminding the women folks of the prevalent grave insecurity and economic down turns which is  ravaging the country, the Foundation called on women to join the fight against insecurity in the country.

 Founder and National President of the group, Mrs. Violet Obiorah, while speaking at OUIPWF’s end of the year party in Lagos, advocated that women should actively join the war against insecurity, adding that ” men and youth can’t do it alone”.

She Said : “Let me share some heartfelt counsel with you, travel for Christmas only when it is necessary. Remember the peace and stability of your marital home often rest on foundation of patience , understanding, respect for your husband”. 

On health and healthy living, the notable and prominent Igbo Women leader ,enjoined women to take serious interest on their health.

“Let us take our health seriously, go for medical checkup always. Let us join our husbands to end the increasing insecurity in the country. The men are doing a lot,” she stated.

According to her, ” women can join the fight not by caring guns but by stopping incitement, encouraging, supporting the youth to disengage themselves from insecurity related business in Nigeria.”

Collaborating her wife’s statement of facts, the Founders  husband, Mr Edwin Obiorah, who guests admired for being the  support base of his wife, Violet ,encouraged  mothers to do more. 

“You are the one with the last say. If you decided to end this insecurity today you will end it . You also need to be careful of what you say and where you say it, because you don’t know what will be used against you or how it will affect your home and husband,” Mr. Obiora stated.

At the highly attended end of the year party cum empowerment program for women, beneficiaries were gifted with  moniepoint POS Machines, food stuffs items and other valuables.

While over 100 women were empowered with cash prices for their commitment to the group. 

Impressed by the effort of Mrs. Obiora in the Empowerment of women, the South West Coordinator, Ohanaeze Ndigbo World Wide, Chief Everest Ozonweke, commended the women group and assured the foundation of his support .

He encouraged the Founder to continue in her teaching, which he said, gave women encouragement and moral on how to build a unified home

According to Chief Ozonweke, ” I will use my office to make sure that I support you In your actions, as well as to project this noble Organization whenever the opportunity arises”.

The Ohanaeze South West Coordinate, further promised to support OUIPWF to the best of his ability, stating  that” by the end of next year, 2026, your end of the year program and empowerment will be much more elaborate than what we are experiencing this 2025″.

Also speaking at the event, Chief Patrick Nwaneze, the President General of Apex Association of Anioma Indigene Inc., praised OUIPWF members for being financially relevant and  steadfast despite the harsh economy.

He  added that the government needs to tackle the insecurity as the Christmas season is fast approaching. 

In his own contribution, Eze Jude Arinze, Eze Ndigbo in Ago area, praised the resilience of Mrs Obiora and commended her contributions to women development in Nigeria.

Representing Moniepoint financial Group , who are also Co- Sponsor of the event, Mr. Peter Ayodeji, said that it was a thing of joy to always help women to grow. 

Mr. Ayodeji revealed that Moniepoint is in the business of helping people to grow, adding that “if there is a certified group that is doing that, we will not come short in participating.”

Some of the Dignitaries and guests at the event , were the Ohanaeze Ndigbo World Wide South West Region Coordinator, Chief Everest Ozonweke ,  Chief Charles Okechukwu and Eze Jude Arinze ,Ezendigbo of Ago and Amuwo Odofin, amongst others.

The event which was anchored by lady MC, Mrs. Ogele Eucharia,witnessed praise worship, dances and singing to the glory of God.

Food was not in short supply as guests and members had enough to eat and drink.
