“Disregard Propaganda , Oba Ojoto Remains Elected Ohanaeze Ndigbo President”, Says Barrister Tony Okechukwu

A legal Practitioner and Frontline member of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos, Barrister Tony Okechukwu, has called on Ndigbo in Lagos to disregard what he called fake Imeobi Election nullification news circulation in the social media.
The constitutional lawyer confirmed that Oba Ojoto’,s credible election as Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos President still stands.
He explained that it is only a court of competent jurisdiction that has the power to nullify the just concluded Ohanaeze Ndigbo election, even as there are no such powers or guideline empowering Imeobi or the President General ,PG, to cancel or nullify state chapters election, except it was adopted just on April 9th, 2026.
Barrister Okechukwu challenged those behind the false news alarm ,to publish and show Ndigbo an official letter from Senator John Azuta Mbata sacking the new Lagos Ohanaeze Ndigbo leadership led by Chief Leonard Okafor.
He asked how possible the PG and Imeobi will neglect and by pass official information protocol route and spread fake news through the rebels , who are constituting nuisance in Lagos Ohanaeze Ndigbo .
Debunking what he called false news , Barrister Okechukwu noted that according to Ohanaeze National Constitution, state chapters are ruled through bye laws and regulations , as the Apex body does not have any known existing constitution guiding elections in chapters worldwide.
According to him , “it is deception plot to misinform the public that Ohanaeze constitution stipulates that the National body, through its committee, will organize elections in Lagos.
Giving authoritative account of what transpired at the just concluded combined Enugu Imeobi meeting, Barrister Okechukwu , confirmed that there was two principal motions raised by Chief Linus Igbudu group, bordering on Ezeship nomenclature change and the just concluded Lagos Ohanaeze Election , which he said was inconclusive,and was kept pending until July.
He alleged that the opposition lied to Imeobi that the election at the local government levels were inconclusive , whereas the said polls have been Concluded.
The lawyer noted that Senator Mbata being a man of integrity and Honor , could not have just woken up and over rule himself by giving counter directives against the very Election he approved and promoted during his earlier meeting with 20 men stakeholders in the presence of the National Legal Adviser, Secretary General and the Ohanaeze Ndigbo grand Patron , Senator Martin Agbaso.
Calling Ndigbo to be vigilant over false information and seed of confusion being sowed by unrepentant rebel group led by Igbudu, Okechukwu recalled that the present crisis bedeviling Lagos Ohanaeze, was caused by Enugu Imeobi led by Chief Nnia Nwodo , who was deceived to nullify and conduct a fresh election, towards the end of Barrister Fabian Onwughalu tenure .
He advised and warned Senator Mbata and his Imeobi to avoid falling into the same trap Chief Nnia Nwodo saw himself ,after his unpopular intrusion into Lagos election .
“We will no longer allow anyone, under any pretense of cancelling Lagos election, to come here to make money through selling of election forms .There was crisis in Oyo , Bayelsa , Ondo , Kano Calabar, did Imeobi cancel their elections?”, the lawyer asked .
