Everyday they say is for the thief but one day is for the owner of the house.

The above wise saying is a signal that the Corruption cup of an alleged notorious extortionist, Adetola Adebowale and his team , who are staff of the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, M.O.T, appears to be full, following their exposure by a resident in Itire area of Lagos.

The said greedy staff, Adetola Adebowale and his notorious team, were alleged to have invaded Itire area of Lagos between the hours of 1am and 2am, in the early morning of Thursday, May 7th, 2026, impounded and towed to their Oshodi office, over 20 vehicles purportedly parked along the road corridors.

However, their problem was said to have started when they allegedly with the aid of some thugs, police and Civil Defence Operatives working with them, intimidated and overpowered a resident ( Mr.Uche ),who said that he just returned to his house from his business trip and stopped in front of his house entrance, about to open his gate keys, before his car was impounded.

After he resisted them explaining to them that he was just opening his gate, one of the Police men, advised him to report to Oshodi task force office later in the day.

On getting to Oshodi task force office, he said that he was shocked to hear that his blue coloured Suzuki car, marked with dealers number 6295-CBY, was not there and that the task force confirmed that they did not carry out any operation in Itire at that odd hours on May 6th and 7th.

He was therefore advised to check Lagos State Ministry of Transportation,M.O.T , Oshodi and Ojota offices.

According to him, on getting to LASTMA office at Oshodi, he saw his car and was verbally told to pay N200,000 to effect it’s release .

He said he presented his case and after explaining, one Adetola Adebowale who claimed to be the second in command, and gave out his phone contact as 08034370543,pretended to be reporting to someone he called his Chairman.

After wasting some time, he was said to have later brought another ticket of N100,000 , insisted to be compensated with N2,500 for reducing the ticket through his phone call.

Realizing that the victim could not raise the billed N100,000, Adetola Adebowale, was said to have reduced the ticket to N80,000 once again, notifying his victim that his offence was that he contravened Lagos State law, contrary to Transport Sector Reform law and Regulations 2018.

The said N100,000 ticket was issued and signed by one enforcement officer,Afeez, bearing details like = Revenue code 4080023; Agency Code 4390000; Pay ID-c-1114875; Tow Account No : 1013515701 .

To convince his victim, he was said to have announced that the payment will be lodged into government account, while insisting that the N80,000 he billed ,is the minimum the state Governor , Mr. Babajide Sanwu Olu,directed him and his team to be collecting from Motorists and residents whose cars are impounded .

However, problem started when after the victim made some recorded calls with his relations , who also spoke with Adetola Adebowale and the money was raised and paid into what was supposed to be Lagos State government account.

Surprisingly, Adetola Adebowale and his team , contrary to the Lagos State Government designated payment Banks of Access Bank and Guaranty Trust Bank,as indicated in the purported ticket,he brought a Keystone bank account :7082438895, Which indicated that it was a private bank account bearing “WAOH Global logistics Services” .

Disappointed, the victim and his relations started pressing for a refund, which was rebulfed with a threat and boasting by Adetola Adebowale, who claimed that he is an untouchable staff at the ministry of Transportation.

Speaking, the victim appealed to the Governor and the State Commissioner of transportation, to intervene and compel Adetola Adebowale to refund his money.

He also appealed to the Governor to save lagos residents from the activities of such government staff extortionists.
