It was gifts galore , as renowned Philanthropist and humanist , Eze Dr. (Amb.) Chika C. Nwokedi, Received a Highlander Jeep, N5m cash ,Deep Freezer and Over 50 Other Gifts, on His 54 Birthday party. 

News Planet International reports that the gift gestures clearly laid credence to the aphorism which says that “Givers Never lack “.

Indeed, last Saturday , August 1,2026, will remain ever green in the minds of guests that converged at Ijegun area of Lagos , where societal  good deeds ,were rewarded in  practical and evidential terms, as Eze  Nwokedi, was gifted a Toyota Highlander Jeep by a group of 25 friends and admirers .

The Jeep gift ,immediately opened the flood gate of Other numerous gifts , as even a Chinese businessman Kelvin Lee, who came with his Nigerian Manager Mr. Victor  Benjamin,  gave Eze Nwokedi a brand new deep freezer ,in addition to N5 million earlier given.

In an emotion packed atmosphere , other notable Igbo Sons , Daughters , business associates and admirers, who had as early as 9am trooped to 56 Kudeyibu Street ,venue  of the party ,to honor Eze Nwokedi, also presented over 50 other sundry gifts.

 Eze Nwokedi whose actual  birthday anniversary date is on August 4, was in the tradition of  Ndigbo Buru Otu Association Of Nigeria,celebrated and honored along side other August Birthday members on August 1,2026.

 It would be recalled that Eze Nwokedi, who is the Eze Ndigbo of Ijegun and Ijedodo and Chairman, Council of Ndieze, Lagos State, is the Founder/President of  Ndigbo Buru Otu Association of Nigeria.

While donating the Highlander Jeep on behalf of the 25 distinguished Igbo stakeholders , the Car dealer told the elated and joyous guests that converged at the venue , that the gift was in  appreciation of Nwokedi’s decades of selfless service to humanity.

The Stakeholders described him as “a rare gift to humanity” whose generosity has transformed countless lives across ethnic and religious divides.

Besides numerous other gifts such as household appliances and valuable items, It was naira rain when many groups such as Ohanaeze Ndigbo , Igbo Speaking Community etc , as well as  friends, were trying to outwit each other with cash donation during the cutting of the birthday cake.

While Paying their tributes , those who spoke and presented gifts ,said that they came to honor and celebrate with Eze Nwokedi , because of his dedication to humanity and philanthropy, his  unwavering commitment to lifting the poor, supporting widows, empowering youths and promoting unity within the Nigerian Space .

From Commencement of the event to its end ,Good will messages flowed like torrents , as Speakers such as the Deputy Commissioner of Police, DPOs, President General of Igbo Speaking Community , High Chief Dr. Sunday Udeh, paid their homage.

Also Speaking , Mayor of the Ndigbo Buru Otu Association of Nigeria, Obi Tochukwu, described Eze Nwokedi as a leader whose compassion has become a source of hope for thousands of people.

 According to him, the massive turnout at the celebration reflected the deep affection people have for the Eze, who is fondly called  Eze Okpoko 1.

” Eze Okpoko is a man of the people. He has spent years putting smiles on the faces of others. We are celebrating a man whose life is dedicated to serving humanity”, he said.

 “We pray that God grants him long life, sound health and greater strength to continue touching lives,” Tochukwu added .

For the Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP  Obiora Okonkwo, who is attached to the police tactical Squad called (SWAT) ,”Eze Nwokedi’s unwavering support for the Nigeria Police and his commitment to promoting peace and unity is unequalled” .

DCP Okonkwo, praised Eze Nwokedi as a “dependable brother and leader whose relationship with security agencies has strengthened community policing and harmony”.

Appreciative of the love and honor bestowed on her Husband , Eze Nwokedi’s wife, Pastor (Amb.) Dr. Tessy Chika Nwokedi (Queen Ugoeze Adakaada I), described Eze Okpoko as a man whose greatest fulfilment comes from giving and putting smiles on people’s faces .

“Even when he has little, he still gives. He forgets his own needs to attend to the needs of others.”

For Ugoeze,though  Igbo Buru Out Association has a tradition of celebrating members born every month, August Editions are usually unique ,because it coincides with the birthday of his Husband ,who is the Association’s Founder.

 She prayed God to continue blessing her husband with greater resources, noting that “every blessing Eze Okpoko receives, eventually finds its way into the lives of the less privileged”.

In his own tribute ,the Chief Executive Officer of Cartel Wine and Hillux Paints Nigeria Limited,  Chief Sunny Akpoyibo,  who confirmed that he has associated with Eze Nwokedi for more than two decades, described him as one of Nigeria’s most compassionate community leaders.

 According to him, “If Eze has only one thousand naira and someone is hungry, he will gladly give it away. Nigeria needs more men like him. If we had ten people with his heart in different parts of the country, Nigeria would be a far better nation.”

Chief Akpoyibo  recalled how Eze Okpoko had distributed more than 230 bags of rice, clothing, cash, business support funds and relief materials to widows and struggling families across Lagos without considering tribe, religion or social status.

Going beyond Nigeria Shores , the Chinese Business man dealing on tyres ,Mr.Kelvin Lee, alongside his Nigerian Manager, Mr. Victor Benjamin , posited that  Eze Nwokedi ,is  a dependable friend and mentor, whose integrity and kindness have earned him the admiration of business associates within and outside Nigeria.

Receiving his numerous gifts , elated Eze  Nwokedi,who was filled with Joy ,expressed his surprise over the Jeep , freezer, cash and  other gifts,noting that  he was not  expecting  such an honour.

He opined that the gesture confirmed his belief that genuine kindness never goes unnoticed. 

“I am deeply touched. I never imagined that people were planning this for me. When you do good, people are watching. When you touch lives sincerely, God raises people to appreciate you,” he said.

He explained why  he had often chosen to spend his personal resources on widows, orphans, indigent families and community development projects instead of acquiring luxury possessions, insisting that his greatest wealth lies in seeing others smile.

For Eze Okpoko,  helping humanity remains his life’s mission, hence his greatest prayer is not for riches but for more resources to continue serving the less privileged.

Reeling out some of his other humanitarian projects , he disclosed that he had recently financed a multi-million-naira community water project that now supplies free water to residents, in addition to regularly paying hospital bills, sponsoring businesses, distributing food items, clothing and educational support to vulnerable families.

He noted that over the years , he had donated parcels of land to deserving individuals and consistently organized large-scale palliative programmes during festive periods.

 “Touching lives is my greatest joy. We came into this world with nothing, and we shall leave with nothing. What will matter before God is the number of lives we positively affected. I don’t measure wealth by the number of houses or cars one owns but by the number of tears one wipes away,” he said.

He therefore  challenged other wealthy Nigerians, political office holders and successful entrepreneurs to embrace the culture of giving, stressing that society can only become better when those blessed by God deliberately invest in the welfare of others.

Advising citizens, he said thus :  “If you want your children to succeed, help another person’s child. If God blesses you, let someone else feel the impact of that blessing. Giving is not about how much you have; it is about the compassion in your heart”.

He expressed happiness that some  members of Igbo Buru Out Association, are now emulating his philanthropic lifestyle, describing it as one of the greatest achievements of his leadership.

Besides  prayers , music , dance, donations and inter – exchange of gifts by  Eze Nwokedi  and all August-born members of the Association, prayers were also said.

Further contributing , Mrs Vera Jonas, described Eze Nwokedi as her mentor, father and compassionate leader.

“He carries the burdens of others as if they were his own. He wants everyone around him to succeed. I pray that God strengthens him to continue this divine assignment,” she said.

Food and drinks were not in limited supply , as guests and members had a lot to eat and drink .
