NAME-CALLING AND LIES WILL NOT MAKE  YOU EZE NDI IGBO, LAGOS STATE — NDIEZE ASSOCIATION TELLS EZE CHRISTIAN NWACHUKWU

It is no longer an easy road for the embattled Eze Christian Uchechukwu Nwachukwu,as the Association of Ndieze Ndigbo in Diaspora World Wide, has joined forces with its President General, Eze Gregory Iloerika, in what appears like a fight to finish.

Nwachukwu had invoked the wrath of the Association of the Royal Highnesses , following series of alleged false,offensive and obnoxious publications he was said to have sponsored against their leader, Eze Iloerika.

News Planet International learnt that presently there is confusion in Eze Nwachukwu’s camp ,as palpable fears is said to have enveloped him over imminent actions by the group.

In a strong worded warning dispatched to News Planet International, the ever battle ready, influential and rich Association, threatened fire and brimstone at Nwachukwu, for what the members tagged “the flagrant disrespect he exhibited towards  their noble and royal Association, it’s President General and late Apex leader , Eze Hyacinth Ohazulike, whose final burial has not been celebrated”.

According to the strong worded public statement signed by its Administrative Secretary, Mazi Ugochukwu Ekwebelem, it reads:

“The attention of the Association of Ndi Eze Ndi Igbo in the Diaspora has been drawn to a Statement titled”Chief Gregory Iloerika is an imposter dethroned by Deji of Akure”credited to Eze Christian Nwachukwu  and published in the on-line channel,the P.M.Express of Thursday,June 12,2025.

We make bold to  tell Eze Nwachukwu that such lies cannot make him Eze Ndi Igbo, Lagos State now,nor in the near future.

We also wish to state that:

1.  It is not in the character of our Association, the umbrella body of all qualified Ezes in the Diaspora,to  engage in open combats with  bare- faced lies and  innuendos, as contained in Eze Nwachukwu’s Statement.

2.  We take exception, nevertheless,to the attempt by Eze Nwachukwu to draw  our President General ,Eze Gregory Iloerika, to  a public spat over these lies and innuendos, for obvious reasons.

3 .  We understand Eze  Nwachukwu’s  predicament and frustrations,but these cannot  justify his twisting of facts  and his bloated sense of entitlement to the  position of Eze Ndi Igbo,Lagos State.

5.   Eze Nwachukwu is aware that we are still in  a period of mourning over  the  loss of Eze Ndi Igbo ,Lagos State, Eze Nwabueze Ohazulike, OON,   few weeks ago, and that Eze Ohazulike is yet to be fully buried.

6.   Tradition  demands that Eze Nwachukwu be more circumspect in his utterances and conduct  during this period of national mourning of all Igbos in the entire Igbo Diaspora over the loss of our foremost Eze.

 6.we implore Eze Nwachukwu to pursue his ambition within traditionally acceptable limits, and  to  allow the spirit of the dead to rest in peace. 

7.We also inform Eze Nwachukwu that  the Association will not engage him  on the true   Eze Ndi Igbo in Ondo  State, nor, on  his reckless involvement  of the Deji of Akure in his Statement,as the  public is aware of these facts.

7.We  wish to remind  Eze Nwachukwu that respect and positions  are earned and not bought over the counter,nor,on the pages of newspapers,nor by throwing names of personalities, here and there”.

Speaking in an interview with News Planet International,over the issue of Eze Ndigbo of Lagos State, which Nwachukwu is alleged to have been laying claims, one of the foremost Eze Ndigbo in Etiosa LGA, lagos State,Eze Gerald Onuchukwu Gerico , frowned at what he described as “such bare faced agitations for the Eze Ndigbo of Lagos State position, when the traditional final burial Rites of the late Office holder have not been performed”.

 Eze Gerico,who is also the Onwa of Oru North and Onwa of Amaofuo Community in  Oru West ,in Imo State,reinterated his earlier warning and advise , which he said he made publicly before Eze Nwachukwu and other Igbo Leaders during a condolence visit to the Palace of Eze Ohazulike recently . 

 He stated that he Urged interested individuals to wait for the guidelines from Ndieze Ndigbo and various Igbo Communities, after the burial of their late Leader,Eze Mpume.

While confirming that Nwachukwu is not Eze Ndigbo of Lagos State, Onwa Gerico,hinted of the intricacies involved in choosing the Successor to the Eze Ndigbo of Lagos State throne.

He repeatedly recalled that he had earlier dropped his advice before Eze Nwachukwu,Eze Christopher Offia and other Igbo Leaders,  warning that nobody should heat up the space with agitations for succession as Eze Ndigbo of Lagos State, until Eze Mpume is given his final burial and last ofola .

Disappointed with on going Claim by Eze Nwachukwu , Eze Ndigbo in Etiosa, warned that anyone Parading himself as Eze Ndigbo of Lagos State now, when the Late Eze has not been given final burial Rites, will be looked at as a suspect responsible for Eze Mpume’s death.

Narrating how late Eze Hyacinth Ohazulike transformed from Eze Ndigbo in Ifako  Ijaye to became Eze Ndigbo of Lagos State in 1991, Gerico who stated that he was made Onwa Ndigbo then, while residing at Ifako Ijaye, revealed that it was through a contest that Late Eze Ohazulike won, noting that after Late Ohazulike emerged, all Ezes and Igbo Leaders gathered together to crown late Eze Hyacinth Ohazulike, and finally took him to the Oba of Lagos State for introduction, adding that It was late Apex Igbo and Biafran Leader ,Ikemba, Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu that actually crowned Eze Ohazulike .

He further warned agitators to the throne to understand that Eze Ndigbo of Lagos State throne is not a Child’s play, because such position demands a lot both financially and otherwise from whosoever that will emerge .

“There are rights the chosen person will perform for the various Igbo segments and community. “it’s not an easy task or kangaroo business”, Eze Gerico concluded.
