Eze Peter Olikenyi Kicks, As Igbo Speaking Community BOT Chairman, Chief Jonathan Nnaji ,Brews Crisis  Amongst Igbo Residents In Oto Awori, Installs Another Eze

Another Brewing Crisis and “war”,allegedly masterminded by the Igbo Speaking Community , over their alleged unrestrained proliferation and unrestricted installation of Eze Ndigbo in Lagos State, is in the offing .

This looming Ezeship installation crisis, which is said to be on the verge of leading to “war” between ” Igbo brothers Against Igbo brothers”, is alleged to have been orchestrated by the Board of Trustee Chairman ,BOT,of the Igbo Speaking Community, Chief Dr. Jonathan Nnaji.

Like a cancerous worm, this ugly development of alleged double installation of Eze Ndigbo in Lagos State ,is once again rearing its ugly head ,despite criticisms and  backlash against the infamous installation of Obi Ndigbo in Lagos State, which we learnt , is an ongoing subject matter of Criminal proceedings in a Lagos High Court, against  the detained  President General of the Igbo Speaking Community,Chief Sunday Udeh and five other Igbo sons,who are now languishing in prison detention facility, until the last adjourned January 7th, 2026 date.

News Planet International reports that the latest Igbo Speaking Community prompted Ezeship crisis, was revealed by Onyeisi Ndigbo , otherwise but hitherto known as Eze Ndigbo in Oto Awori, in old Ojo LGA, Eze Dr. Peter Omenife Olikenyi, Eze Udo.

In an interview with our Correspondent , Eze Udo Olikenyi , said that he became aware of the abnormal  Ezeship coronation  ,after an online Newspaper(Names Withheld), reported and celebrated the double crowning of an acclaimed  Eze in Oto Awori area of Lagos State.

Kicking against the latest crowning of Eze Ndigbo in Oto Awori, Eze Olikenyi, also known as Ide, lambasted Chief Jonathan , accusing him of being a dishonest ,insincere and double faced person.

According to Eze Olikenyi, “peace hitherto, has  been reigning in the Igbo Community in Oto Awori LCDA, before this  invasion by Chief Nnaji and his cohorts” .

Olikenyi, bemoaned what he called ” selfish, deliberate, unfruitful and baseless act  by Chief Nnaji ,of crowning cum inciting Chief Timothy Eberechukwu Nwanoro , who is one of my Palace Chief and Onowu, against me, just for monetary gains,despite having directly benefited immensely from me”.

While further lampooning Chief Nnaji and his Co- travelers for the said  betrayal and deceit , Eze Olikenyi , revealed that he had paid Chief Nnaji N50,000, after his Installation as Eze in 2004, by the late Eze Ndigbo of Lagos State , Eze Hyacinth Ohazulike , in collaboration with Ohanaeze Ndigbo and in the presence of Igbo Speaking Community .

According to Eze Olikenyi, ” Chief Jonathan Nnaji was present in 2004 , during my Crowning as Eze Ndigbo of Oto Awori  by Eze Hyacinth Ohazulike,in collaboration with Ohanaeze Ndigbo and Igbo Speaking”.

Besides, Eze Olikenyi , emphasized that the BOT Chairman , Chief Nnaji, BOT benefited from everything that was done during his installation in 2004, including collecting N50,000 from him.

“So, whatever Chief Nnaji is doing as regards installation of  Chief Timothy Eberechukwu Nwanoro, my Cabinet Chief and Onowu, as a new Eze in Oto Awori , does not hold any water and cannot stand, as I remain the only authentic Eze Ndigbo in Oto Awori”, Eze Olikenyi Stated. 

Continued He :  “It’s a pity that some of our so called Igbo leaders are so shameless because of stomach  infrastructure, that is, what they will eat,what they will eat, and as a result , they have lost their honor and integrity”.

Eze Udo called upon Igbo Residents in Oto Awori  LCDA, to be wary of Nnaji and Udehs’s antics, especially ” their penchants in creating confusion and division amongst Ndigbo in Lagos State, for selfish gains”, noting that everyone cannot be a leader.

He asked , “How can  there be two Captains in a ship?, just three weeks ago, Chief Nnaji and his musketeers, woke up from their slumber , and reportedly,  installed Chief Nwanoro, my Onowu, as an acclaimed Eze in my jurisdiction, this is 21 years after my Coronation ,as Eze in 2004,which was  then fully supported, benefited and witnessed by the same Chief Nnaji.”

My advise is that “Ndigbo should maintain Igbo Culture , the way their fore father meant it to be , hence, we should be mindful of the  behaviours, which we are attaching ourselves to and we must be careful because of posterity , so that we don’t create enormous problems for our Children and their  Children’s  Children” .

Visibly expressing his displeasures, Ide noted that “these  problems and abnormalities  being created by the likes of Chief Nnaji and Chief Udeh, are the reasons the South East Council of Traditional Rulers decided to sanitize the Ezeship title in Diaspora” .

On fulfilment of rights to Igbo Speaking Community, Eze Olikenyi , revealed that despite that Igbo Speaking Community were not crowning Eze Ndigbo as at that time he was Crowned Eze in 2004,but as a peace loving Igbo Leader, he ensued that by the time they started installing Eze Ndigbo, he took their form through, their then Chairman ,Barrister Chris Okoye and Secretary, Chief Bismark Iloanu ,and fulfilled every requirements they demanded .This he stated was decades before Pastor Peter Ezeama and Mazi Victor Okoroafor became noticable .

He therefore queried why Igbo Speaking President General, Chief Sunday Udeh; Chief Chuks Odimegwu and the entire Igbo Speaking Community leadership, were prominently featuring in his Ofala and New Yam festivals , if he was not recognized by them?.  

Eze Olikenyi mocked Chief Nnaji ‘s sponsored online Newspaper report,which claimed that Chief Udeh , who has been incarcerated in prison over his controversial Obi Ndigbo installation  ,was present at the purported crowning of New Oto Awori Eze Ndigbo three weeks ago. 

He reminded Chief Nnaji of the travails which Chief Udeh and Igbo Speaking Community have landed themselves into,just  because  of commercialization and proliferation of Igbo cultural custom of  Eze Ndigbo Titles  in diaspora.

Warning Nnaji of the consequences of creating crisis and brother against brothers war in Lagos, over their penchant of multiple installation of Ezes, ,Olikenyi , restated the fact that he remained the only authentic Eze Ndigbo In Oto Awori LCDA of Lagos State.

He advised Nnaji and his cohorts, to stop creating tension in Lagos State, as the host community, the Yorubas and government ,are not happy and are watching eagerly while taking serious note of the development.

It would be recalled that an online  Newspaper, had reported that “The Board of Trustees of the Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos State, has confirmed Eze Elder Timothy Eberechukwu Nwanoro, as the Ezendigbo in Oto Awori LCDA, having met the requirements in line with the constitution of the community in the State. 

The report also noted that the BOT Chairman, Dr Jonathan Nnaji, made the declaration during his visit to Nwanoro’s palace in Ijaniki area of Oto Awori LCDA

Dr Nnaji was quoted also  as having  explained that Chief Timothy Nwanoro, had gone through the rigorous process and the BOT confirmed him as the only recognized Ezendigbo in Oto Awori LCDA.

 As the drama unfolds, Eze Peter Olikenyi , will always be remembered for his philanthropic gesture for humanity over the years.

 He has assisted the less privileged people in the society and for his philanthropic  contributions, he was given the chieftaincy title of Ide ,with several awards over the years.
