Igbodum Multi Cultural Association has condemned in strong terms ,the recent trending incitement by some group of artisans and Mechanics, under the aegis of NATA, who were  alleged to have tried to cause problems between the Yoruba host Community and the Igbo Traders in Ladipo, Mushin, Lagos State.

The group who claimed that they were being displaced by Igbo Traders from their assigned mechanics workshops locations in Ladipo Mushin, which they claimed was allocated to them by late Lagos State former Governor Lateef Jakande,  alleged that Igbos have bought and taken over their birth right land in Ladipo Mushin.

As a result, they organized a Xenophobic protest , inciting Yoruba indigenous people to fight back and retrieve their sold lands from Ndigbo residents and traders.

News planet International reports that members of NATA , were said to have gathered in Ladipo,Mushin, where they alleged that Igbo trader have taken over their land and excluded them from engaging in their artisans jobs.

In their viral anti Igbo Investment campaign recorded in a video by Flip online television on tiktok, one of their Leaders , Toyin Adeniyi , Who was identified as NATA public relations officer,Called on Yorubas to rise up and take back their land, even as they called on President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwu Olu and former President Olusegun Obasanjo to intervene on their behalf.

Grieved by what he described as anti visitors and Xenophobic action, President General, Igbodum Multi Cultural Association, Prince Chuks Celestine Emechebe, frowned and condemned the development, calling it anti progress, anti peaceful Coexistence and cohabitation plans by enemies of the Country, which he said is politically motivated and aimed at throwing Lagos state into another crisis and confusion, especially as the 2027 elections is loading.

Further chiding the Organizers of the  rally and condemning what he said was  sowing evil seeds of hate , disunity and brewing crisis in the polity, Prince Emechebe ,regretted that while President Tinubu is busy vacating Nigerians trapped in South Africa over Xenophobia, some misguided elements are being used by some unpatriotic politicians to create another phase of Xenophobia in Lagos State.

Cautioning against Xenophobia, Prince Emechebe reminded NATA that many Igbos in Lagos are busy campaigning for President Tinubu’s re- election , while they are shamefully busy causing confusion,  more mistrust and creating disunity amongst ethnic Nationalities.

Igbodum therefore appealed to Lagos State commissioner of police , CP Fatai Tijani and other Security Agencies, to wield into this anti national peace and anti national security incitement and invite NATA leadership, as well as investigate the real motive behind the campaign , with the aim of fishing out the faceless sponsors.

Emechebe cautioned that this and other acts of brewing ethnic crisis as well as grooming uproar in Lagos state must be stopped before it’s too late.
