Speaking , the President General of Igbo Speaking Community , Chief Dr. Sunday Udeh,  the Coordinator of  Council of Ndieze , Eze Dr., Barrister Ferdinand Agueneke, Eze Tochukwu Anosike, Eze  Kenneth Aguedo and Eze  Fredrick Nwajagu of Ajao Estate , all maintained that their  endorsement followed deep thoughtful brotherly understanding , as well as an enlarged Ndieze and Igbo Speaking Community resolution during a  meeting held recently.

The group, which comprises traditional Igbo Leaders and authentic original Diaspora Eze Ndigbos’ in the 57 Local Government  areas of Lagos  and other Igbo Speaking Community grassroots stakeholders from across the state , said the decision was reached unanimously after reviewing the political and socio-economic situation in the Country.

Members of the forum disclosed that they had actively supported the election of President Tinubu in the 2023 Presidential poll which was erroneously mis – interpreted after  the election by some mischief makers.

However, considering what they attributed as Tinubu’s Administration impactful  policies and Successes recorded across the Country in his far spent tenure , they said they have now reinforced their support for the incumbent President, citing what they described as evidence of good governance and the administration’s ability to adequately address the welfare needs of ordinary citizens.

The forum also maintained that its endorsement of the President , followed extensive consultations among its members and expressed confidence in Tinubu’s capacity to provide purposeful leadership and inclusive governance if elected in 2027.

The group further opined that their endorsement reflects its determination to mobilise grassroots support across the state in pursuit of what it called  a reinforced alliance with their host community, as well as a new political direction for Ndigbo.

The Igbo Leaders, therefore called on its members and other Igbo eligible voters to remain actively engaged in the democratic process ahead of the 2027 general elections.

While further expressing their reasons and convictions for the endorsement  , Chief Udeh, emphasized that Igbos voted for Tinubu in the 2023 presidential poll , contrary to speculations and erroneous impressions by some people  ,despite that he lost in Lagos State  .

Chief Udeh, explained that the President had long been a friend of Ndigbo while he was Governor of Lagos State , having appointed an Igbo Man , Chief Ben Akabueze , as Commissioner for Budgeting and Economic Planning ,as well as giving appointment to Engineer Joe Igbokwe.

According to the  Igbo Speaking President – General, President Tinubu’s first tenure as President, has benefited Ndigbo in infrastructural development and other sectors.

Collaborating Chief Udeh, Ndiezes Coordinator, who is the Eze Ndigbo in Epe , Eze Dr.Barrister Ferdinand Agueneke , insisted that Tinubu’s  Administration has benefited Ndigbo more than any other regime.Noting that the President has done more good than harm to Ndigbo.

He cited what he called infrastructural largess of two inter States road network ,running through Anambra State , which he posited, have been awarded by Tinubu’s Administration , beside other benefits .

In his own contribution ,Eze Anosike ,who credited Tinubu for picking Engineer Igbokwe from Nnewi , where he was selling Newspaper, however , regretted the electoral lapses which led to Tinubu defeat in Lagos during 2023 polls, blaming  the fraudulent deception , allegedly pioneered by what he described as infamous manipulation tagged G-50 forum  by one Uchenna Festus from Abuja, who in conceit and or connived with some Ndi Ndu Chiefs, who he said, were then masquerading themselves as Ndieze.

Hampering on Igbo saying that wherever an individual lives, the same place he should protect , Eze Anosike , therefore  reassured  Tinubu of bulk votes from Igbo residents in Lagos.

For the Chairman APC South East Movement in Ojo Federal Constituency  and member of APC Ethnic Affairs Directorate, Lagos state ,Eze  Kenneth Anayo Aguedo, he praised Tinubu ‘s present efforts in governance and his ongoing agenda on reverting to regional government, insisting that no democracy is perfect even in the developed clime.

According to him , because  Ndigbo in Lagos have massive  investments in the state, they  must work in consonance to the desires and aspirations of the host community for peaceful coexistence , as well as  supporting Tinubu ,so as to benefit  after his electoral victory in 2027.

Responding to the agitation of marginalization of Ndigbo in political offices, good governance , dividends of democracy and lopsidedness of political appointment by Tinubu’s Administration, Eze Nwajaga, defended the President , saying that an Ebonyi State indigene ,was giving a notable appointment ,  noting  that his group solid support for Tinubu for 2027, is born out of the same  Igbo Maxim which says ” Ebe Onye bi, ka ona awushi”.

On why they are abandoning their own brother Presidential candidate of NDC, Mr. Peter Obi and his visionary ambition, as well as the age long desire for a Nigerian President of Igbo extraction , Nwajaga , who appeared not very conversant with Mr. Peter Obi’s name , said there is freedom of political choice ,as all Igbos must not support one candidate .

President Tinubu and his campaign organization ,are expected to formally align, accept and partner with this group, especially  as political activities gather momentum ahead of the next Presidential  contest.https://www.newsplanetinternational.com/igbo-associations-football-fiesta-eze-chika-nwokedi-kick-starts-competition-donates-cow-n1m-trophy-prize-as-igbo-buru-otu-club-draws-1-1-with-eastern-brothers/
