It was indeed a celebration of life,fanfare Galore and a glorious exit, despite that tears and encomium flowed like torrents ,as an amazing Woman Of Substance,late Ezinne Mrs. Christiana Onanweze Uzendu Joins Her Ancestors.

With the Calibre of guests and mourners that trooped to the burial tagged “Heavenly Farewell”, there was obviously, no better place to be on Friday 17th April, 2026, than at the residence of late Chief Cletus Chibunine Uzendu of Imama Okunito Amankwo Oghe, Eziagu local Government Area, Enugu State.

Choice food menus, exotic drinks, live music and dance and more were all on generous offer at the burial event which almost became an extravaganza and fiesta of some sort.

Right from dusk to dawn, the whole atmosphere had become charged, with space from literaaly anyone who bothered to come.

There were politicians, entrepreneurs, socialites as much as there were ardent supporters of HRH, Eze Amb.Peter Ifeanyi Asuonye, the man with a large humanitarian heart, who came with his large entourage and symbolic rope depicting gift of cow.

All you needed to do, was just show your face, and you were entitled to a ceaseless flow of hospitality from the army of caterers and social event undertakers.

In his characteristic, Eze Asuonye , popularly known as Eze Ohazurume 1 of Ibeju Lekki LCDA and his inlaws (the wife’s family) , who were the day’s host, assisted by his amiable wife, right from their vantage seats, kept tab on the serving arrangement, ensuring that everyone present has ate and drank to a tilt.

Some needy fellows, who braved the thick security by the high table , at the burial,to find their way closer to the man of the moment, Eze Ohazurume, the Eze Igbo Gburugburu of Lagos State ,had a better story to tell: they went home with some wads of notes in their pockets or handbags.

Eze Ohazurume, who is also the Mayor of Peace ,United Nations World wide, was just at his best doling out kindness in as many measures as possible.

Besides his cow, drinks and others gifts to his Inlaws,the crux of Eze Ohazurume ‘s burial attendance was when he sprayed his loving wife with wads of Naira notes while she was dancing, to the admiration of guests.

In his message at the burial, Eze Ohazurume,praised his late Mother Inlaw for her love and resilience and urged his inlaws to bear the lost with fortitude .

He also urged Ndigbo in diaspora , especially Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos ,to remain optimistic about good governance in Chief Leonard Okafor’s new administration .

A believer in Igbo unity, Eze Ohazurume , has an unshakable faith in the ability of the Igbo nation to feed its people adequately once quality leadership and good governance is given a leeway.

It would be recalled that Eze Ohazurume had, before now developed an economic master plan for the Igbo Nation and Nigeria as a whole, showing how the fortunes of the country could be maximized to make Nigeria not just a food basket with regional semi-processing zones for food sufficiency, but a technological and economic powerhouse for the West-Coast of Africa.

“There is huge potential in Igbo Nation, for the real economic emergence of Nigeria not just in Africa, but in the whole wide world”, he said.

“It is a matter of time, and a question of good leadership and it would become a reality”, he asserted.

“Leadership is about service to humanity. It is about listening to the people, addressing their needs and creating policies that improve lives, reduce hardship and expand opportunities, especially for the youth and the vulnerable,” he added.

He equally used the opportunity to urge Ndigbo in diaspora to be united and speak with one voice for the development of South East .
