It was jubilation galore,a heart touching and memorable outing last week, precisely December 2nd ,2023,as the popular Social Cultural Organization, known as ‘Igboburuotu’ Association,rewarded its members loyalty, dedication and steadfastness, with  mouth watering expensive gift items, ranging from electronics, bags of rice and other food stuff items.

The rewards which dazzled most of its members,was part of the program to wind up the year 2023, with a memorable end of the year party.

The epic fiesta which took place at the palatial Palace of its founder, Eze Ndigbo in Ijegun/ Ijedodo kingdom, Eze  Chika Nwokedi, witnessed Members cart away multi million naira worth of gifts.

Besides free gifts items to members, a  raffle draw which was a side attraction, set the venue agog,as lucky members, their friends, well wishers emerged as winners.

It was indeed a thank you occasion where some members of the association, who since the eight years existence of the group had singled themselves out , performed creditably well in various capacities, were  honoured and awarded for their commitment to the progress of Ndigbo Buru Otu over the years.

Some of the awardees were Barrister Peter Nnajiego, Rev. Dr Moses Okwuosa, Ugoeze (Lolo) Chika Nwokedi, Chief Mrs. Ada Odili, who received a refrigerator for her outstanding performance in the group including Chief Ogbuka.

Others included Chief Godwin Anaeme,  Chief Chika Okeoma, Barr. Mrs. George and many others, who received various  items including bags of rice, wrist watches, bedsheets and branded T-shirts with the inscription of Eze Chika Nwokedi.

The climax of the the event was the raffle draw, which was affirmed to be transparent,as both members and non members of the association emerged winners and promptly received trophies .

The  deep freezer winner, Mrs. Anderlin Echenim, who was not at the venue, thanked the association . She was shocked after she was called on phone and informed that she had won the item without being a member of the group and at the same time happy that she won it because her shop fridge had spoiled and she needed to buy one.

A novel innovation was unveiled with the Crowning of Mr. Obi Tochukwu ,as the first Mayor of Igbo Buru Otu Association as well as Lolo Ogbuka as the Queen of the group having won the majority votes from members to clinch the positions for one year.

Speaking with Journalists, The President and Founder,Eze Nwokedi , gave an insight into the forth coming widows empowerment slated for December 14, 2023,at his palace.

Pointing at the heap of 10 kg bags of rice inside his palace, Eze Nwokedi, who is known for his philanthrophic, developmental strides and milestones in the society, announced said that he will empower 170 widows on 14th December, 2023, at his palace.

The highly elated Eze Okpoko 1, stated that this year’s event was unique and organized specifically to celebrate members of the association, who have worked tirelessly to ensure that the association was moving forward for over 8 years it was formed.

He stated  that he was happy seeing the members smiling and going home with different gift items as motivation to encourage them to do more for the progress of the group.

He noted that the road to the present success was torturous but giving God the glory, Nwokedi revealed that he was able to achieve that by the grace of God and support from the members who reposed confidence in him.

He assured of a better outing in 2024 and reiterated his God giving passion to help.

He promised to continue to give and put smiles on the faces of people especially the less privileged in the society including the widows.
