Ndigbo Buru Otu , has through its past Charity and Humanitarian outreach, broken barriers and empowered young people to pursue their dreams, impacted many less privileged members of the society .

The initiative, held on last Thursday, October 8,2026, marked the Foundation’s eleventh major community intervention, demonstrating its commitment to supporting underserved children and ensuring that difficult circumstances do not stand in the way of their survival.

What began as a modest plan to reach the abject and under privileged members of the society , has turned into a larger community engagement ,as the group has exceeded expectations, prompting organisers to accommodate additional beneficiaries in their outreach.

With the support of it’s philanthropic Founder, Eze Dr.(Amb.) Chika Nwokedi, kind hearted members and volunteers, the Association successfully extended its assistance beyond the original target, bringing encouragement and practical support to more children in many orphanages .

Founder of the Association and President General , Eze Nwokedi , personally attended the outreach alongside members of his team, interacting with the Physically Challenged Children and encouraging them to remain focused on their education and future aspirations.

Beyond the immediate assistance of N200,000 cash, assorted food stuffs, such as bags of rice ,Noddles, tubers of yams, tissues, bottled water , soft drinks, etc provided, the programme sought to inspire confidence, nurture resilience, and remind the beneficiaries that their backgrounds should never determine the limits of their ambitions.

The initiative also underscored the importance of community collaboration in addressing disability challenges, with Clubs, Associations, playing significant roles in mobilizing participants and coordinating activities.

Ndigbo Buru Otu’s involvement in reaching out to the poor and down trodden of the society , proved particularly valuable when the empowerment surpassed projections, enabling the organisers to respond effectively without turning away from accommodating additional Orphanages and children with disabilities .

For Ndigbo Buru Otu , the outreach represents more than a charitable intervention. It signals the beginning of a broader mission to bridge opportunity gaps and empower young Nigerians through education, mentorship, and community engagement.

The programme reflects the organisation’s philosophy that meaningful social impact must go beyond expressions of sympathy to practical actions capable of improving lives.

With its 11th outreach recording an encouraging turnout, the Association is looking to extend its interventions to other underserved communities, reaching more children and young people who require support to realise their potential.

Established as a social impact initiative, Ndigbo Buru Otu Association is dedicated to promoting education, resilience, dignity, and access to opportunities among disadvantaged populations.

Its guiding conviction is that no child’s future should be defined by the circumstances of their birth or the challenges of their environment.

Through initiatives such as the compassion and humanitarian support outreach, the Association hopes to translate that conviction into tangible opportunities, helping young people approach the future with confidence, determination, and renewed hope.

Speaking after the visit,The President General of the association, Eze Nwokedi, who is also the Ezendigbo of Ijegun/Ijeododo and Chairman, Council of Ezendigbo in Lagos State, touched by the condition of the children ,promised to send more periodic support to the Foundation.

He noted that the visit was part of the major mission of Ndigbo Buru Otu Association, aimed at supporting the needs of motherless babies, widows, widowers and the less privileged in the society, since he founded the association 11 years ago .

About 80 Members of the association turned out for this year’s charity outreach, contributing food items including bags of rice, cartons of noodles, cooking oil, provisions and cash donations to support the upkeep of the children.

Seen as a yearly event towards the end of every year, between October and November, Ndigbo Buru Otu Association had in the past visited other orphanages and homes for the less privileged ,such as Charitas Orphanage in Abaranje, Ighalo Orphanage Home in Ijegun and now, the Foundation for Hope in Disability amongst others .

Explaining further , Eze Nwokedi , fondly called Eze Okpoko ,said the outreach is aimed at giving back to society and showing magnanimity to those in need without expecting anything in return.

For Eze Nwokedi , the outreach is a period of reflection ,which gives his members opportunity to reflect and strive always to be a better human to the society .

In reminiscence , Okpoko recalled that at the beginning, it was difficult to convince his members to support the project, but griming with joy , he noted that today , his members now donate cheerfully and freely with joy, having seen in practical terms that “blessed is the hands that giveth”.

He promised that the association will continue to support the less privileged, adding that his philanthropy is not limited to orphanages alone but also covers widows, widowers and struggling families who need help to survive.

Eze Okpoko enjoined all wealthy and well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the gesture.

The Founder of the Foundation , Mrs. Blessing Abraham, who warmly received her visitors, thanked the association for the show of love.

She commended Eze Nwokedi for his consistent humanitarian work and for touching many lives in Lagos and beyond.
