Igbodum Multi Cultural Association has called on the Nigerian President , Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to urgently intervene with the hope of saving the lives of Nigerians being attacked and killed in South Africa.

Expressing concern over the dwindling image of the country before the community of Nations ,over ongoing unprovoked attacks, killings and crude destruction of investments and properties belonging to Nigerians by South Africans, the group urged President Tinubu to urgently Confiscate or Nationalize all assets and investments belonging to South Africans in Nigeria.

According to the group, when retaliatory interventions such as revocation of licenses , confiscations and Nationalization of investments and Assets are executed, it would affect South African economy harshly and teach them lessons on how to behave like civilized country.

Speaking in an interview with our Correspondent, the President General of the Association, Prince Chuks Emechebe, regretted that despite Nigeria and Nigerians invaluable sacrifices and support to ANC and South Africans during the dark era of Apartheid, the Country and it’s citizens have chosen to pay back with ingratitude.

He advised the President to take a decisive action against ongoing Xenophobiain acts, so as to increase his acceptance and chances in the forth coming National Election in 2027.

He added that while the Federal Government has stepped up it’s war against insurgency in the country recently, that President Tinubu should as matter of urgency intervene to save Nigerians resident in South Africa.

Describing the action of South Africans as intimidation and disregard to the Country, he said ,”Nigerians are helping to grow their economy despite obvious envy by the citizens, just because majority of their men are very lazy and are dependant on hand out from government.

LWe have many of their companies such as MTN, Multi Choice, Shop Rite , Sun City hotel and many others operating here in Nigeria unmolested, making so much money and repatriating back to South Africa , why are they reciprocating our kind gestures with wicked and barbaric acts.

Look at their Social media postings and even their President, Cyril Ramaphosa, denied witnessing on going Xenophobic actions by his citizens and government agencies “, he lamented.

Prince Emechebe, therefore appealed to all Nigerians resident in South Africa to urgently and immediately return back to Nigeria and save their lives from what he called “ongoing barbaric actions exhibited by South Africans”.

Recall that there have been public outcry and condemnation in world and across the Country since the killings and attacks on Nigerians started again, necessitating the National Assembly to recently deliberate on the issue of Xenophobia in South Africa.
