JUBILATION IN KETU : As Comprehensive High School Agidi ,Old Students Association, 1996 Set ,Put Smiles On Students Faces, Commission Solar Borehole To Celebrate 30th Anniversary

For the Students , Parents Teachers Association, PTA, Staff and Management of Comprehensive High School Agidi, Alapere, Ketu ,Lagos State, Thursday ,June 11, 2026, was a memorable day in the checkered history of the School.

News Planet International reports that It was Jubilation galore within and outside the School premises , even as encomium and praises flowed like torrents in honor of the revered but dynamic 1996 Set of the School old Students Association, who in their magnanimity , love and progressive minded Spirit ,rehabilitated a solar powered Borehole for their Alma mater.

Indeed,Our Correspondent reports that some elated guests described the emotion packed event held on Thursday and Saturday, June 11th / 13th , 2026, as pomp and pageantry, as dignitaries, Government officials ,community leaders, Pupils ,Teachers converged for the Commissioning of the rehabilitated Solar Borehole Water Project and 30th Anniversary Celebration of the 1996 Students Set.

The heart warming celebration was well attended by Old Students , guests from across the World, Captains of industry, leaders in the Education Sector and Students groups, who came to honour the milestone achievements of the 1996 Old Students Set.

The two days programme , described as a double impact event by some old students, featured the commissioning of the rehabilitated Solar borehole water project, Happy Reunion of Old Students and Pep talk to students on danger of drug abuse.

In recognition and appreciation of the 1996 Old Students Set efforts,the SSA to the Governor of Lagos State on Sport and Youth Development, Mr. Biliami Oba, was on ground to address the students on the need to be serious with their studies.

Also Speaking at the opening Day of the anniversary , Mr.Adesegun Adejoke ,gave an insightful Speech on the management of Student’s mental health.

While welcoming the old Students to the school, the excited Principal of the School,Mr. Adedeji, appreciated the 1996 set alumni ,for coming to give back to their Alma Mata, he prayed for God’s blessings to everyone.

Also Commending the efforts of the 1996 Set, the Principal of Community high school Ketu and Principal, Comprehensive High Junior Secondary School, Ketu, both expressed their profound appreciation .

In his own remarks ,the Anniversary Planning Committee Chairman, Mr. Ikenna Anthony Udeocha ,commended his members, other School mates , including those in diaspora, on their efforts, supports and contributions in making the event a success.

Mr. Udeocha, further appreciated what he described as the unalloyed support from members of his planning Committee made up of : Titilayo Adeyanju, (Secretary) ;Akeem Sinikara ,(Publicity Secretary) ; Blessing Oyegwa;Tomi koleoluwa; Gbenga Adeiye;Adejoke Adesegun;Tawa Lawal; Bose Ogunsanya Ojo;Mary Agunbiade and Sammie Salisu.

In his own remarks , the Chief Administrator, Mr Bayode Treasures Olawunmi ,appreciated everyone for sparing the time to honor the occasion ,despite their busy and tight Schedules .

Mr. Olawunmi , used the occasion to announce the newly appointed electoral committee members, headed by Prophet Yinka Balogun.

The new Committee members , he said , are to work on the Associations’ constitution and conduct an election into the various executive positions within ninety Days.

It would be recalled that the 1996 Set of the Old Student Association ,is managed by an eight man Administrative Executives, which includes: Bayode Treasures Olawunmi ; Akeem Salami; Adeyeye Ogunleye;Adebukola Akinyemi; Sadiku Yusuf ; Ikenna Anthony Udeocha ; Anuoluwapo Gbenga and Ogunlade Abiola Olarewanju.

However, On June 13,2026, which was the grand finale of the 30 years anniversary celebrations ,School mates attended from all paths of the world.

It was an emotional happy reunion as members were in high spirits to see each other again after three decades of leaving the high school.

Our Correspondent gathered that there were Lots of catch up gists and appreciation to God for life, this is even as the venue was literally set on festive fire ,as Members in solid amity ,celebrated in unique grand style.

Some alumni of various sets, who graced the occasions,described the events as a well organized solemn celebration devoid of rowdiness , while others ,classed it as unique and matured anniversary festival.
