BACKLASH  : Confusion Reigns , As Igbo Leaders Slam New Central Council of Ndieze In Lagos. Watch Videos Below

Just few days after inauguration of the newly formed “Central Council of Ndieze” and  Governing Board (BOT ) of the Council of Ndieze Igbo in Lagos State , the group ,has come under intense fire and criticisms by many Igbo Groups,  Leaders and residents.

Igbo Stakeholders  accused the Organizers of  greed, Anti Igbo Peace initiative ,  Inordinate  ambition and  love for leadership Power , insisting  that the above were ” the reason behind the formation of the new Council”.

News Planet International reports that the Eze John Greg Ezebuadi Led new Central Council of Ndieze, have also been accused of greed, over zealous Inordinate ambition for leadership, power hungry and deliberately sowing seed of discord amongst Ndigbo leadership in Lagos .

Describing  the new Central Council of Ndieze  as a gathering of strange bed fellows, the Stakeholders who criticized the new Central Council , noted that” there was much backlash against last week purported merger of six hitherto overated but proliferated  Ezendigbo Councils”, Saying that the Condemnation by Igbo leaders has  allegedly brought shame and  thrown  the Organizers into confusion and disarray .

Recall that few hours after the release of their inauguration  communique video , Igbo leaders made up of Chief Solomon Aguene, Chief Sunday Ossai, Eze Chukwudi Boniface Okparaku , Chief Sunday Udeh , Igwe Dr.  Frederick Nwajagu of Ajao Estate , Incumbent Council of Ndieze Chairman, Eze Christopher Offia and many other Igbo leaders , immediately  lambasted Eze Ezebuadi and his Six man Central Council of Ndieze, accusing them of greed, creating Confusion because of their  Inordinate love for leadership power. 

According to the Igbo Leaders mentioned above, “the purported unauthorized Central Council of Ndieze ,was an aberration and illegitimacy ,contrary to what all Igbo residents and leaders agreed on February 27, 2026, at the last peace  meeting held at Old Skull , National  Stadium, Surulere Lagos State”.

Giving graphic account , Chief Ossai  revealed that there was an all inclusive meeting of the Igbo groups, Ndieze  factions, held at the Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, which was  presided over by Eze Christopher Offia led Council of Eze Igbo.

Ossai noted that at the expanded meeting, the group agreed to create a peace forum that comprised specified numbers of various Igbo interest groups and factions

However, before the agreed March 13, 2026 date for the all inclusive nominated Igbo groups meeting , Eze Ezebuadi was said to have plotted an popular failed  ” Coup ” on March 10, 2026, against Eze Offia led Council of Ndieze Leadership and the ongoing entire Ndigbo peace initiative in Lagos, by forming his own  Governing Board /BOT and Central Ndieze Council , made up of the following:  namely Eze John-Greg Okey Ezebuadi, Eze  Chika Nwokedi, Eze Lawrence Nnamdi Eze, Eze  Nicholas Njoku,  Eze Ikem Agbasi and Eze Tony Greg Anosike .

The Board which had their inaugural meeting at the office of Eze Chika Nwokedi in Ijegun area of Lagos, made certain resolutions ,such as banning of further coronation of New Eze Ndigbo, which they vowed to implement .

However, there has been many other Negative reactions over the formation of the new  Central Council of Ndieze .

Lashing at the new group, Chief Solomon Aguene noted that Peace has finally returned to Ohanaeze  Ndigbo Lagos State Chapter , despite few dissenting voices.

 Chief  Aguene , who is also a  Mayor and United Nations  Peace Ambassador ,  urged Ndigbo to disregard every other directives that is not emanating from Ohanaeze Ndigbo Office led by  him in joint  collaboration with Chief Sunday Ossai  and Chief Sunday  Udeh of Igbo Speaking Community .

Explaining the background of the peace initiative, Aguene , reminded all Igbo Leaders, Stakeholders and  residents in Lagos , on  how Ohanaeze Ndigbo President General , World Wide,  Senator John Azuta Mbata, intervened and  meticulously wielded  into the Ohanaeze Lagos Chapter Crisis and empowered him ( Aguene ) to conduct an all inclusive Election.

Going down Memory lane , Chief Aguene , recalled that the long  leadership Crisis  that engulfed Ohanaeze Ndigbo in lagos, emanated from the nullification of a credible election and conduct of a fresh polls  by the then Ohanaeze “Ime Obi” from Enugu , contrary to Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos Chapter Bye laws.

Aguene , therefore advised Eze John Greg Ezebuadi and his new formed Council to key into the peace initiative which was approved by Senator Mbata, to move Ndigbo forward in lagos.

A traditional leader and Ezendigbo in Ajao Estate, Igwe Frederick Nwajagu, who had earlier exonerated himself from Eze Ezebuadi ‘s impeachment motion against Eze  Offia ‘s Leadership ,described Ezebuadi ‘s  action as  wrong.

Condemning the hurried formation of the purported Central Ndieze Council, Eze Chukwudi Boniface Okparaku , slammed the organizers and queried the rationale behind the new group.

 Referring to the letter signed by Chief Ossai of  Ohanaeze Ndigbo and  Chief Udeh of Igbo Speaking Community ,dated March 9, 2026 , which documented the 27 February, 2026, general house agreement nominating 10 Ezes from each group , Eze Okparaku queried Ezebuadi ‘s group, saying : 

“Have these criteria been met ? So why are all these shenanigans going on … ?, I dont want to overly critical with my words .I will continue to restrain myself, but they should know that wisdom is indeed profitable. Enough is enough”, Eze Okparaku warned.

In a mock reaction circulating on  different Igbo platforms  , Eze Christopher Offia and Eze Nwajagu  stated thus :

 ” John Greg you are finished. JOHNGREG finished himself long time ago.

He exposed his ignorance and foolishness towards greed and desperation, because he never realized that he who lives in a glass house does not throw stone anyhow.

In a viral video circulating online , Chief Solomon Aguene, Chief  Sunday Ossai and Chief Sunday Udeh , had kicked against an earlier meeting at Ijele, Chief Charles Odinukwu’s Chadon hotel , allegedly instigated by Eze Ezebuadi, to harmonize and regularize the Ezeship title in diaspora , especially in South West .

While defending his actions , Eze  Ezebuadi stated thus : “I don’t understand why some people are much uncomfortable  with the formation of Board/Governing Council, thinking that we are targeting their aspirations but that doesn’t exist and also transformation to NDINDU, the latest in Town”.

Referring to Eze Offia’s tenure , Ezebuadi  alleged that Ndieze in Lagos have just realized their past  mistakes by allowing Ohanaeze President to intrude into the affairs of Ndieze by appointing what he called a stooge to lead them.

Announcing himself as the highest ranking Eze in Lagos , he confirmed that he took it upon himself to convene the meeting to enable Ndieze to stop playing second fiddle ,so as to have an independent  structure as Ndieze not hitherto interference by non Eze’s .

Opining that the formation of  new Central Council of Ndieze ,was a selfless sacrifice , he denied fixing the date and venue of the meeting  , noting that it was Eze Lawrence Eze and  Eze Chika Nwokedi that handled those aspects, whereas he suggested only time.
