IN LINE OF DUTY : N33.2m Presented To Families Of Late Police Officers In Delta State By CP Abass

A total sum of N33,275,840 million have been presented to families of deceased police officers who died in line of duty in Delta State.

News Planet International reports that the cheques were presented to the beneficiaries by the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Wale Abass on behalf of the Inspector General of Police Usman Alkali Baba.

It was learnt that the fund were part of the Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident, and IGP Family Welfare Insurance Schemes.

The Delta State Police Command Spokesperson DSP Bright Edafe in a statement, said that the cheques were presented on Friday.

” On 9/6/2023, the Commissioner of Police Delta State Command, CP Wale Abass psc, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police IGP Alkali Baba Usman, PSC+, FDC, NPM, NEAPS, CFR presented cheques of Thirty-Three Million, Two Hundred and Seventy-Five Thousand, Eight Hundred And Forty Naira (#33,275,840) to families of deceased officers who died in the line of duty. 

” The cheques issued on behalf of the IGP are parts of the Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident, and IGP Family Welfare Insurance Schemes. 

” The CP while presenting the cheques appreciated the gesture by the IGP as the cheques will in no small way act as a boost to the families and also a way of letting them know that though their loved ones are no more, the force did not forget their sacrifices. 

” One of the beneficiaries in her remark on behalf of others appreciated the Inspector General of Police for the gesture shown to them and assured that the money will be spent judiciously”, the release stated.
