It was an emotional but meritorious High powered Condolence Visit yesterday, at Fagba, Iju area of Lagos State, as “Ndieze Ndigbo in Diaspora World Wide and Ndieze Udo Title Holders Association”, paid a courtesy visit to further commiserate with the family and Palace of their departed leader and Eze Ndigbo Lagos State, Eze Hyacinth Ohazulike .
The Top High ranking Ezes numbering over 15 , were led by their Vice President – General and Eze Ndigbo in Isolo, Lagos State,Eze Ikem Agbasi, who represented the Groups President General, Eze Greg Iloerika ,Eze Ndigbo in Ondo State.
The Ezes had converged at the palace of their Board Of Trustee Chairman and Eze Ndigbo In Ikeja,Eze Uche Dimgba,at about 10 am in the morning of May, 9th,2025, where they deliberated on some vital issues affecting Ndigbo residents outside Igboland,as well as other thorny issue concerning the unity of Ndieze Ndigbo in Diaspora.
Some of the notable Ezes present were : Eze Uche Dimgba, ( Highly Favoured by Most Ezes to be Eze Ohazulike’s Successor as next Eze Ndigbo Lagos State) ; Eze Ikem Agbasi of Isolo; President Ndieze Ndigbo NA Uzo Ije, Southern Nigeria, Eze John – Greg Ezebuadi , Duru Ochiriozuo Na Uga, Eze Dr. Alex Sunday Nwoye, Eze Ndigbo of Ejigbo; Eze Peter Umeh , Jaganza ,Eze Ndigbo of Munshi , His Excellency, Eze Ambassador Nicholas Emenike Njoku, Eze Ohazuru- Mee of Ejigbo LCDA ; Eze Ndigbo In Onigbongbo, Eze Tony Anosike; Eze Innocent .F . Okunamiri of Ifo, Ogun State;Eze Ossai Igwe; Eze Enwemadu Livinus Chimezie and Eze Nnaemeka Agbo.
Others are: Barrister Chief Charles Onyeaku; Chief Chris Okolie and Barrister Jeffrey Ikwunze.
After their fruitful deliberations at Eze Okpotemba’s Palace , the Ezes who came in various brands of expensive SUVs, drove in convoy to their late Leader’s lagos residence, where they were warmly received by the daughter of the late Eze Ndigbo of lagos State, Princess Emily Akuabia Ohazulike; His Onowu, High Chief Goddy Ulasi ;Palace Secretary, Mazi Ugochukwu Ekwebelem; Chief Francis Ukairo (Ikemba 1) ; Chief Dr. Valentine Ngonadi, a.k.a Iduu Ebubudike Na Ihialla; Adaigbo Lagos State,Chief Mrs. Vera Johnson; Chief Perry Awuzie; amongst others.
The host , during introduction and presentation of traditional kola nuts, Spoke through Chief Ulasi, Chief Ebubudike, Mazi Ekwebelem and Mrs Johnson.
They expressed joy for the visit by the Ezes and expressed confidence that the contributions of the late Eze Ohazulike , was not wasted.
In response, the visiting Ezes who came with gifts of Eight Symbolic kola nuts ,some cartoons of drinks and a bottle of Whiskey, addressed their host, through Eze Dimgba, Eze Agbasi, Eze Ezebuadi, Eze Okunamiri,Eze Agbo and assured Ohazulike’s Palace Chieftains that they would ensure that Late Eze Ohazulike’s last traditional Ofala must be held in fanfer, adding that they would be in forefront .
In his further remarks, Eze Dimgba called on all Igbo residents to join hands with his group,in other to accord the late Icon a befitting final Ofala.
Eze Dimgba’s oratory and acceptable speech opened a floodgate of encomiums and praises poured like torrents, as the Ezes took turns to elugise their Late leader, who they said changed the narrative of Eze ship in Diaspora.
It was also a visit of reconciliation and healing of old wounds, as Eze John Greg Ezebuadi, reconciled past differences with Princess Emily Akuabia Ohazulike with a warm embrace.
Earlier, at the BOT Chairman’s Ikeja palace, the Ezes were in Unism in their call for unity amongst the various Eze Ndigbo groups.
They cautioned Chief Sunday Udeh of Igbo Speaking Community and his Co- travellers proliferating and trivializing Eze ship in Diaspora, to desist, consider Igbo integrity and solid Amity.
The visit ended at a posh restaurant in the Pipeline area of Fagba, where the Ezes, host and others present were treated with sumptuous meal.
