In a frenzy of protest and public condemnation, Ukpor community in Anambra State, under the auspices of Ukpor Liberation Forum, ULF, has disassociated themselves, their Ancient kingdom, from a recent unpopular report , labelling the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Soludo,as an imposter.

The abominable publication according to the group, is at its best, a disjointed and jaundiced selfish opinion of the writer, Mazi Chidi Orjika, who ULF said is famous as a purveyor of false and unverified comments.

A peep into the protest petition signed by over 35 prominent leaders, sons and daughters of Ukpor community, who are based at home and Abroad, the petitioners ,regretted that the obnoxious publication writer, Mazi Chidi Orjika, who is the current Secretary General of Ukpor Improvement Union, abused his position and office by using his office as a platform to advance his personal political interests.

One of the ULF leaders, Prince Andy Moore Ezejioha , lampooned Mazi Chidi Orjika, stating that his publication was orchestrated to bring political disharmony between the progressive good people of Ukpor and their illustrious Anambra State born Son, Professor Charles Soludo, with a view of  creating unnecessary distractions and distrust.

He said: “His write up is very unfortunate and quite uninformed. Lagos State was not developed by Tinubu. Projects are commissioned in Nigeria before they  even begun or completed. Remember ,if you care, that the second Nigeria bridge was commissioned many years ago before real work started on it”.

Ezejioha, advised the writer thus : “you can campaign for your candidate, Mr. Nicholas Ukachukwu, swallow the few Naira he can drop for you ,but to shamelessly condemn the seating Governor of the State, calling him an imposter, is very unreasonable. This is a good example of Yellow Journalism. My advice for you is that you delete this post”.

In a rejoinder debunking the vexed publication, addressed to the President General ,Ukpor Improvement Union, Anambra State, which was signed by the   groups Founder, Nze Kanayo Chukwumezie; Coordinator;Dr. Chidozie Fred Egwuatu and Secretary, Igweka VIP Nwabueze, the Ukpor Liberation Forum explicitly stated thus :

Attention:

Mazi Chidi Orjika

Sir,

*Re: As Tinubu Honors Anyaoku:

Governor Charles Soludo’s Desperation Knows No Bounds*

The above subject matter/article refers:

Our attention has been drawn to an article credited to Mazi Chidi Orjika, the incumbent Secretary General of Ukpor Improvement Union.

*Ukpor Liberation Forum*  writes to dissociate Ndi Ukpor as a town from the demeaning and defamatory article by Mazi Chidi Orjika for the following reasons:

(1) The article does not reflect our position as a people.

(2) The article does not propagate our collective interest as a people.

(3) The article has the potential of placing Ukpor on collision course with the Governor.

(4) The article has the potential of deflating whatever gains Ukpor may have made on Community/Government relationship with Government House.

(5) The article is replete with falsehood and disrespect for the office of the Governor.

Recall Sir, that upon assumption of office as the President General of Ukpor Improvement Union, you led a powerful delegation to Awka where a well articulated pressing demands was presented to the Governor.

The *demand document* may have been signed by the President General and the Secretary General respectively on behalf of Ukpor.

The article written by Mazi Chidi Orjika therefore contradicts what Ukpor Improvement Union stands for and aims at achieving for Ndi Ukpor.

One may however argue that Mazi Chidi Orjika is entitled to his opinion as an individual but his position as the Secretary General of Ukpor Improvement portrays him as our image maker and spokesperson.

If the President General aspires to attract development and investment to Ukpor via Government patronage, the Secretary General should not be seen as singing discordant tunes with his principal and the people of Ukpor.

*OUR DEMANDS*

(a) We therefore demand that the article be pulled down forthwith.

(b) We demand that Ukpor Improvement Union should publish a *Newspaper disclaimer* to that article.

(c) We also demand that Mazi Chidi Orjika should write a letter of apology for using his office as a platform to advance his personal political interests.

*PRAYERS*

We pray the President General Ukpor Improvement Union to consider our demands maka odimma Ukpor.

Signed:

*Dr. Chidozie Fred Egwuatu*

Coordinator

*Igweka VIP Nwabueze*

Secretary

By Mazi Chidi Orjika

Gov Soludo’s latest attempt to cling to power is a masterclass in political opportunism. As President Bola Tinubu visits Anambra State, courtesy of Chief Emeka Anyoaku, the former Commonwealth Secretary-General, whom the Nnamdi Azikiwe University honored in 2017 by instituting the Institute of International Studies and Diplomacy in his name, Soludo is desperately trying to hitch a ride on the President’s coat tails. It’s is an established fact that the President has come to commission the completed N1.5 billion Multi-Complex of this institute, as a due honor to Chief Anyoaku’s legacy.

One wonders if a children’s amusement park and an uncompleted Government House are projects worthy of interrupting the busy schedule of a sitting President. These projects pale in comparison to the impactful initiatives commissioned by President Tinubu in other states, such as the State Agriculture Mechanisation Centre and the 24km dual carriage way commissioned by Mr. President in Katsina State few days ago, or the Blue and Red Rails in Lagos State.

Let’s we forget; the contrast between Soludo’s governance and Tinubu’s track record is stark. As Governor of Lagos State, Gov Tinubu transformed Lagos into a thriving metropolis, showcasing his ability to deliver impactful projects and drive economic growth. This legacy speaks to his capacity for governance and development.

Meanwhile, despite his academic credentials as a professor, Soludo’s performance as Governor of Anambra State has been nothing short of mediocre.

It’s appalling that Soludo is trying to usurp credit for the PBAT’s visit to Anambra state for projects that don’t even measure up to the quality and impact of the Institute of International Studies and Diplomacy at Nnamdi Azikiwe University. The President’s visit is a credit to Chief Anyoaku’s legacy, not Soludo’s governance.

Meanwhile, as we welcome our progressive President to Anambra state, we express gratitude to President Tinubu for his administration’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure in our dear State, particularly the dualization of most Trunk A federal roads in Anambra, including the second phase of road construction around the Second Niger Bridge and the ongoing efforts to see to the completion of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway. These projects demonstrate the President’s commitment to driving economic growth and development in the state.

Given Soludo’s mediocre performance, blatant opportunism, and suffocating multiple taxation policies inherent in his Akado economics, Anambra State deserves better leadership. Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the APC offers a promising alternative, with a vision that aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, promising economic reforms and development that will drive growth and prosperity for all Anambra citizens.

Finally, despite Soludo’s attempts to masquerade as a progressive, Anambra’s citizens will render their verdict on November 8, 2025. The APC candidate  Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, will emerge victorious, and Anambra State will join the league of progressive states under PBAT’s stewardship.”
