Woman Plans To Set Up All Muslim Primary School In Edo State

In what looks like an attempt to promote Islamic education at the grassroot in Edo State, Mrs. Aisha  Bukhari, wife of an ardent Islamic adherent, Mr. Momodu Bukhari is on the verge of establishing all Muslim Primary School in the northern Senatorial part of the state.

Some anonymous sources told our reporter in Auchi that arrangements are at advanced stage towards securing approval from the Edo State Ministry of Education for the commencement of academic activities at the school temporary site.

According to the sources some of whom are Mrs. Aisha Bukhari ‘s confidants, the school when operational would concentrate more in the advancement of pure Islamic education as opposed to the many existing primary schools where little attention is given to Islamic studies.

In many of the public primary schools in the State, learning  of Islamic subjects are not compulsory for pupils as many of the schools’ population is largely made up of Muslim and Christian pupils.

Some education analysts in Edo State told our correspondent that the emergence of the school may be hinged on the philosophy of Mr. Momodu Bukhari who has deep interest in making Islamic teaching a common thing if not in the whole of Edo State but in the Northern Senatorial District.

According to a source, barring any unforeseen circumstances, the school would likely take off at its temporary site in the 2025/26 academic session once the Ministry of Education gives its approval.
