Chinese Dragon Dance Shines At Eze Ndigbo Amuwo Odofin Foundation Sponsored Cultural Exchange, 2025 New Yam Festival. Watch Videos Below.

October 24, 2025, was truly a remarkable international  Cultural Exchange , an  Extravaganza and exposition of diverse cultural inheritance from Africa to Asia .

Beyond the cultural fiesta as exhibited by the Chinese Community in Amuwo Odofin,  Igbo Community , Yoruba and Hausa Communities , humanitarianism took the centre stage .

Many poor , less privileged ,needy and indigent families smiled home with assorted gifts and food items ,such as bags of rice, noodles and beverages etc, courtesy of Eze Ndigbo Amuwo Odofin Foundation, in collaboration with the    Chinese Community and other Donors.

This is even as Eze Ojukwu , who is also the Bobaselu of Ado Kingdom, preached peace and unity among Ndigbo, as well as the need for harmonious co- existence between Ndigbo and all other ethnic groups , especially the Yoruba host Community .

There were assorted drinks and enough foods to eat ,even as many guests ,irrespective of cultural affiliations, relished the Igbo traditional yam ,which was the main reason for the gathering, to celebrate the New yam festival.

The ceremony started at about 3.30 pm with the traditional Royal entry dance by the Principal host , Eze Ndigbo Na Amuwo Odofin, Eze Augustine Sunday Ojukwu, Eze Udo 11,who with his lovely wife , Ugoeze Ojukwu and some of his Palace Chiefs and musical group, exhibited their regal dance steps round the venue ,to welcome guests and kick start the auspicious event .

This was followed by reception of dignitaries and recognition of special guests at the high table.

Prayers were said, Igbo traditional kola nuts were presented by the Royal women groups and later blessed by Eze Ojukwu ,Who pleaded God to bless his guests .

Subsequently , after the opening remarks and speeches by  Eze Ojukwu ; the Chairman of the Occasion , Chief Mathias Enechukwu and the Eze Ndigbo Amuwo Odofin Council of Chiefs Chairman  , High Chief Linus Ikechukwu Onyemaechi, popularly known as Ochiagha, the Foundation empowered selected beneficiaries with the food stuff items.

Immediately after the empowerment  , Eze Ojukwu, sandwiched by other Ezes, guests and dignitaries, marked his 2025 Ofala with the cultural New yam festival  celebration.

The stage was subsequently let loose for cultural exchange and exhibitions , where different Masquerades from Lagos State and South East , Women groups and other dance groups thrilled the guests.

It was at this stage that the  Chinese Dragon Dance group received grate ovation as they mesmerized  the guests with their unique cultural dance exhibitions.

Some of the Ezes, guests and dignitaries at the occasion were : Eze Peter Umeh of Mushin ; Eze Onyeka Ifekandu of Lagos Island; Eze Umuokorobia Agbo and Eze Igboleri, just to mention few.
