In a move seen as directional and impactful, a formidable Women Foundation in Nigeria, “Odinma Umuada Igbo Women Foundation”, has unveiled new measures to boost its operations in 2026, enhance women empowerment and tackle negative Girl Child issues and policies debilitating against women visibility in the country.
Addressing a cross section of women, government officials, Royal Fathers, Guests and captains of industries on November 22nd, 2025, , at its 2025 End of the Year party and women empowerment, held at the prestigious Emglo Suites , located at Amuwo Odofin Area, Apple Junction, Lagos State, the National President and Founder, Chief Mrs.Violet Uche Obiora , highlighted on the Foundation’s 2026 projects ,aimed at bolstering her Organizations’ programme and activities.

On their priorities for the next one year, 2026, Mrs Obiora , popularly known as Olaedo ,listed some to include:”Hospital visitation programs to assist women and children with medical bills; Prison visitation programs to provide support to women who have been unjustly imprisoned;Initiatives to remove about 100 child-hawkers from the streets of Lagos and return them to school and Programs to support women in their petty trades”.
In a bold step therefore, Mrs. Obiora , hinted of their plan to establish an interest free Business Support Trust Fund loan for their trading Women, which she said is subject to repayment under one year.

The text of her speech read thus : “Distinguished Members of Our Prestigious Foundation,Special Guests,Ladies and Gentlemen,It is my honour and privilege to welcome you all to this remarkable gathering.
” Today, we celebrate not only an eventful and impactful year, but we also celebrate one another, our resilience, our compassion, and the grace God has given us to be instruments of blessing to many families.
” While this event provides an opportunity to reflect on our achievements, it is also divinely set apart as a day when even more lives will be touched by the generosity of our foundation.
“During the year under review, our foundation made significant strides in reaching out to those in need. We successfully paid the school fees of ten secondary school students, some from Badagry in Lagos, others from various communities in Anambra State.

” Because a number of the beneficiaries reside in areas without public secondary schools, our support extended to both public and private institutions. Altogether, we invested over one million naira in ensuring these children remained in school, giving them hope and a future.
“We also responded promptly to the plight of a family whose breadwinner lay critically ill in the hospital and could not settle his medical bills. Through our swift intervention, we paid the outstanding ₦200,000, bringing relief and comfort to the distressed family.
“In addition, we stood by four widows from different local government areas in Lagos, who were confronted with the painful loss of their husbands. To support them during this difficult period, we provided ₦50,000 each, (amounting to ₦200,000) while reaffirming our commitment to the welfare of women in vulnerable circumstances.
“Looking ahead, some of our youths appealed for empowerment through the construction of a community car wash where they can earn a living. We have approved their request and are currently searching for a suitable location that will allow the project to thrive.

Furthermore, we are in the process of establishing a Business Support Trust Fund for our trading women. This fund will provide interest-free loans repayable within one year. The revolving structure will allow returned funds to be extended to new beneficiaries, ensuring continuous empowerment and growth within our community of women. we are set to test-run this initiative with one person today.
“As part of our empowerment package for this event, the Foundation will extend support to various categories of beneficiaries as follows:-Four recently bereaved widows will each receive ₦50,000 (totaling ₦200,000) along with 10kg of beans and 70kg of noodles to support their immediate welfare during this difficult period.Twelve elderly widows will each receive ₦25,000, amounting to ₦300,000, in addition to 10kg of beans and 70kg of noodles. This gesture is aimed at easing their burden and ensuring they are remembered during the festive season.
“Twelve indigent women, identified as being in urgent need of support, will receive ₦5,000 each, totaling ₦60,000, and 70kg of noodles to assist them with basic necessities.
“Fifty-one members of our foundation will each receive ₦15,000, amounting to ₦765,000, along with 10kg of beans and 70kg of noodles. This is in recognition of their commitment to the Foundation and to support them in celebrating the season.

“Additionally, ten women will receive POS machines to enable them to start small-scale financial services, thereby promoting economic empowerment and constant income generation.
“We will also inaugurate our Business Support Fund by providing an initial loan package of ₦200,000 to one beneficiary. This marks the beginning of a broader empowerment scheme that will gradually be extended to more women. The loan is completely interest-free and is intended to strengthen and expand the existing businesses of our women.
“Through this initiative, we seek to enhance financial stability, promote entrepreneurship, and support more women in becoming economically self-reliant. As earlier stated, the loan is to be returned after one year, enabling additional beneficiaries to access the fund.
“Our vision is to expand this initiative across the country, ensuring that more women from different parts of Nigeria are included and empowered through this programme.

On festive travels, the Founder said this :”As we approach the end of the year, allow me to share some heartfelt counsel with my fellow women:First, travel for Christmas only when it is truly necessary. Let your journeys be purposeful, safe, and well-considered”.
Speaking on home management, she counseled women to ” remember that the peace and stability of your marital home often rests on a foundation of patience, understanding, respect for your husband, and spiritual devotion”.
“Avoid becoming the source of tension in your family. Life must continue after every challenge, so let us be women who build, not those who tear down family unity”, Mrs. Obiora advised.
In a voice filled with passion, She said , “I must urge some among us to examine our behaviour. Violent attitudes and confrontational dispositions do not enhance our value; instead, they destroy relationships, damage our reputation, and distance us from those who could support and uplift us”.

Advocating on proper healthy living for women, the renowned woman leader, urge women to choose humility, wisdom and grace.”Let us also take our health seriously.
Prioritize medical check-ups, take prescribed medications responsibly, and engage in regular physical exercise. A healthy woman is a strong woman, and a strong woman is a blessing to her family and society”.
While expressing her deep Christian commitment to her creator, Mrs. Olaedo stated Finally, “do not allow anyone to mislead you into believing that God does not exist or that the church is a scam. Such individuals are not friends but agents of confusion.Stay away from them, God is real, and we are alive and able to be instruments of so many successes, only by His mercies and grace.
She therefore prayed that ,”this Christmas brings peace, joy, and renewed hope to every one of us. May 2026 be a year of greater accomplishments, increased grace, and abundant prosperity for our Foundation and all its members.Thank you, and remain blessed! Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2026″.
