Barely six months after inauguration, the current ,most vibrant and active Igbo Women Group World Wide, popularly known as ” Odinma Umuada Igbo Prestigious Foundation” , has continued to tower above many others, making meaningful contributions and impact in the lives of women in Nigeria, especially Igbo Women.

News Planet International reports that immediately after the memorable and remarkable formal public presentation last June 14, 2025,in FESTAC , Amuwo Odofin Area of Lagos State, the Foundation has touched many lives, through the help of the amiable, versatile and result oriented Founder, Chief Mrs. Violet Uche Obiora, fondly called Olaedo; Mmiri Oma Doroedo ;Agbacha Agbacha and Nwanyi Oma.

The Foundation had kick started it’s humanitarian mission with awareness campaigns , Hospitality visitation, Counseling , Medical Outreach and women Empowerments .

For instance , despite its inaugural Empowerment and Thanksgiving at the Catholic Church auditorium, over five months ago, the Foundation last weekend successfully held its End of the year party , where over 100 women smiled home with various gifts, such as, cash, POS Machines ,buckets and various food stuffs items.

It would be recalled that Mrs Obiora , known for her philanthropy , generosity and heart of gold, which her numerous followers says is filled with milk of Kindness, had during the epic and historic inauguration, reminded her audience ,the importance of collective responsibility and the need to lift up one another, especially at a time when Nigeria faces significant economic challenges, where survival has become a luxury reserved for the privileged few.

According to her, it was the realization of such ugly and grave economic conditions, that propelled and inspired her in the formation of Odimma Umuada Igbo Prestigious Women Foundation.

Reeling out the Foundation’s mission Statement, Mrs Obiora, who most of her female admirers nicknamed Lioness and transparent leader, said their goal was to restore hope to the less privileged and to provide a platform for those with resources and ideas to make a meaningful impact in raising others.

In her words, “As the women leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos, l took off with the women and Stakeholders of this Foundation. And I can attest to the significant role this Foundation has played in empowering women and children during our tenure in Ohanaeze Lagos. Our achievements also include:

– Creating an unforgettable identity for Ohanaeze through the production of a special outfit, which has been adopted by other states across Nigeria.

– Formulating the lead role of women in the Igbo traditional protocols of the kolanuts, highlighting the beauty and preserving the essence of its rich cultural practice.

– Extending joy and support to indigent women and children.
– Providing resources for setting up a befitting State secretariat for Ohanaeze in Lagos.

Following her successful experiments during her tenure in Ohanaeze, ” the group proudly and seamlessly transitioned to focusing on their core mission of empowering women and children”.

To proof her claims, she noted that her foundation has been privileged to support several beneficiaries, including :- Pacelli School for the Blind;- Heart of Gold Orphanage Home;- Indigent women and children selected from various local governments in Lagos

In addition to their philanthropic efforts, she revealed that the Foundation boasts of a vibrant cultural troupe.

Infact, She was pleased that the platform enabled women to showcase their talents in singing and dancing while maintaining physical fitness.

However, the heart warming side of the cultural Troupe innovation ,she said ,was the fact that the women were transformed into cultural ambassadors, making them perform at various events, with proceeds going towards supporting the Foundations charitable initiatives.

Moving forward, Mrs Obiora, who is also the National President of the Foundation, noted that their current focus will be on expanding their services, so as to reach more beneficiaries.

On their priorities for the next one year, 2026, Mrs Olaedo listed some to include:”Hospital visitation programs to assist women and children with medical bills; Prison visitation programs to provide support to women who have been unjustly imprisoned;Initiatives to remove about 100 child-hawkers from the streets of Lagos and return them to school and Programs to support women in their petty trades”.
Recognizing the enormous and Herculean task ahead, she therefore appealed for your support.
“Your generous donations will help restore hope to those who need it most, and their prayers will keep sustaining you”, Mrs Obiora appealed.
