A Frontline Igbo Leader and Eze Ndigbo of Abaranje and Okerube area of Ikotun LCDA,Lagos State, Eze, Dr. Chukwudi Boniface Oparaku, has intensified his advocacy for Igbo solid amity, oneness and Unity.

To achieve this set objective effectively, the calm but resilient Entrepreneur , who is also the Chairman and Managing Director of Bonchudi Group of Companies Ltd,has called for the immediate establishment of an “Obi Ndigbo” or an “Igbo Place of Talking Drum”.

Speaking yesterday in an exclusive interview with News Planet International,at the last Ofala Cultural festival of late Eze Hyacinth Ohazulike, Eze, Dr. Oparaku, the Business Mogul ,enjoined his fellow Igbo compatriots in Lagos State, to jettison selfishness,hate, pride and arrogance and come together with a mind set to speak with one Voice.

This mindset , Eze Oparaku insisted , would  earn all Igbos the much needed respect of their neighbors and other ethnic Nationalities in the Country.

He called for the immortalization of the legacy of Eze Ohazulike by keeping his palace as the “Obi Ndigbo or a place of the Talking Drum”, where Ndigbo will gather as a group or delegate, to discourse, disagree ,agree and speak with one voice,moreso, receive traditional, political , Economic and social- cultural dignitaries.

For him, “one of the problems or challenges Ndigbo are faced with in Lagos State and Nigeria today, is lacking someone that speaks for us today, and that is why Ndigbo are being disrespected”,Eze Oparaku lamented.

Speaking further on the sidelines of the Ofala fiesta,along side his adorable wife and Ugoeze, Lolo Chizoba Christiana Chukwudi Oparaku, Eze Abaranje/ Okerube, who prayed that Ndigbo would have Uniting factors that would make them speak with one Voice,made a bold step by  listing qualities expected of the incoming Eze that would replace  Eze Ohazulike,as the New Eze Ndigbo of Lagos State,after one year mourning.

On the controversy surrounding the institution of Eze Ndigbo in Diaspora, Dr. Oparaku , corrected the wrong impression and notion depicting Eze Ndigbo ship as Political ,noting thus : ” Eze Ndigbo is not political, it is all about Igbo Culture and traditional celebration, so that our children will know their cultural root”, he said.

 According to the tenets of his Eze Ndigbo of Lagos State qualification, “the candidate that would replace late Eze Ohazulike as Eze Ndigbo of Lagos State, will possess the quality of a bridge builder, he must have capacity of uniting Ndigbo, he will not be a sell out or betray Ndigbo for 30 pieces of silver”.

Eze Oparaku further said that Ndigbo needs ,” someone who is self made, who will not be swayed with money, someone who is simple, who will defend the course of Ndigbo ,be it in the morning, afternoon and night. We don’t want to have an Eze Ndigbo of Lagos state who will not be able to speak the truth to the throne that be”.

The Imo State born Business Magnet, who holds triple Chieftaincy and traditional titles of ” Eze Chukwu Kwadoro Ndigbo”; “Amuru- Onye Na Ego of Ihitenansa and Ihiteowerre” Communities in Orlu Senatorial Zone ,commiserated with the first family of Eze Mpume 11,the  entire Igbos in Lagos State over the demise of the legend.

He therefore  extolled the qualities of the late Eze Ohazulike as a Man who loves and understands what humanity is, saying ” that is why the igbos and Nigerians  trooped in their numbers to celebrate him .
