A Socio – Cultural Group, Igbodum Multicultural Association, has called on the Inspector General of Police , IGP Kayode Egbetokun , to extend the proposed Tinted Glass permit verification to March 2026.

Igbodum also expressed concerns over the alarming rate of Kidnapping across the Country, hence it called for increased Police and other Security Services Surveillance around inter – State borders.

According to the Organization, the high point of their worries, stems from the fact that the proposed Tinted Glass Permit check , will multiply the woes of travellers , especially those going to South East ,this Yuletide.

Expressing Security concerns during their courtesy visit to an APC Chieftain in Lagos State, Chief Nixon Okwara, who also is one of the Associations’ Patrons, the group’s President General , Prince Celestine Chucks Emechebe, argued that Citizens deserves to travel to their homes during this Christmas holidays ,freely, unhampered ,unmolested by Police and other Security Operatives in the guide of Tinted Glass permit Check.

Prince Emechebe , regretted that, “Already , there are numerous Security Checkpoints and other bottleneck challenges travellers and motorists plying Lagos to South East roads are confronted with daily, adding that tinted Glass permit Checks will impact negatively on road Users, both in terms of security risk and trauma”.

He therefore beckoned on the Inspector General of Police , to rescind on his earlier directives and abide by the latest Court ruling suspending the tinted glass verification.

Speaking further, Prince Emechebe , commended the IGP on his Administrations reforms and Policing policies .
