It was emotion packed, a moment of truth and reality as encomium of praise flowed like torrents in honor of a legend and Premier President cum Chairman, Board of Trustees, Association Of Ndieze Ndigbo in the Diaspora, Late Eze Ndigbo of Lagos State, Eze Hyacinth Nwabueze Ohazulike.
Indeed even the late Eze Ohazulike will be joyful and grateful wherever he rest now,as his lieutenants and the Royal Association he founded and led for years ,did not abandoned him in death.
Members of his Association’s deep loyalty, respect and love, was superbly exhibited yesterday at the Lagos Television Venue, where many Credible, genuine and respectable Ezes converged and in one accord ,and with one voice they poured deserving encomium to their late mentor Eze Ndigbo of Lagos state.
Led by their current President – General of Eze Ndigbo Nuzoije World Wide, Eze Gregory Iloerika, the Eze Ndigbo of Ondo State, who was ably represented by the Association’s Vice President General, Eze Ikem W. Agbasi, Eze Ndigbo in Isolo, Lagos state.
The high powered Eze Ndigbo delegation and representatives, was very formidable, , made up of the Chairman Board Of Trustee (BOT) ,Ndieze Udo Nuzoije Title Holders Association and Eze Ndigbo in Ikeja, Eze Uche Dimgba, popularly known as ‘ Okpetemba’ ; Eze Ndigbo Mushin, Eze Peter Umeh, aka, Jaganza; Eze Ndigbo in Etiosa ,Eze Gerard Jerico Onuchukwu; Eze Ndigbo in Abaranje, Eze Chukwudi Boniface Oparaku; President Ndiezeigbo Nuzoije,South West, Eze John Greg Ezebuadi , Eze Ndigbo in Iba; Eze Ndigbo in Akwute, Eze Innocent Okunamiri; Eze Winco represented, and many other Ezes.
It was a sight to behold, as the night of tribute ,which was uniquely packaged by the late Eze’s Children;inner family and a committee led by his able Personal Assistance and Secretary, Mr.Ugochukwu Ekwebelem ; Ada Igbo of Lagos , Chief Mrs. Vera Osuagwu and Ndiezes ,witnessed the attendance of many other dignitaries cut across ethnic boundaries, including some leaders of the host Community.
Some of the other dignitaries are : Chief Gani Adams, represented by Chief Adebiyi Philips; Baale of Iludun Town, High Chief Tunde Coker and MS Olaibigbe Funmi.
Others, are Chief Chris Ekwilo ; Ohanaeze Ndigbo , Lagos State Chapter, Secretary and President ,Chief Robert Obasi and Chief Sunday Ossia; Media Icon , Reverend Paul Eze ; Chief Sunday Udeh and Chief Chuck’s Odimegwu of the Igbo Speaking Community in lagos.
Extolling the virtues of the late legend, also known as Omereoha Eze Mpume 11, all the dignitaries that spoke, agreed that the late Eze Ndigbo of Lagos State, lived a life of Service and Charity.
According to Eze Okpotemba, Eze Mpume was a man of Diverse personality, a gem, an iroko, an unrepentant traditionalist ,a custodian of Igbo Culture and tradition, who projected Igbo rich cultures in Diaspora , outside Igbo land.
Eze Agbasi, who is also the Chairman of Ndieze Udo Title holders Association in Lagos, described their feelings as painful, because they lost a very generous man in the person Eze Mpume.
For Eze Umeh ,Eze Jerico and Eze Ezebuadi, Late Eze Ohazulike. Was an embodiment of Igbo Culture and tradition , a mover of men.
Speaking also, Ada Igbo of Lagos State, Chief Mrs Vera Osuagwu, noted that Eze Eze Ohazulike is irreplaceable in her mind ,because the late Eze was like a father to her.
In his own tribute, Eze Dr .Chukwudi Boniface Oparaku, while noting that he was a benefactor of the late Eze Mpume’s large heart of Gold,through his Clearing and Forwarding business Association with the late Eze, extolled his giving spirit ,exceptional talent and vision, tagging a Protector of Igbo Culture and Tradition.
Making his contributing on behalf of the host Community, Baale of Iludun Town,High Chief Babatunde Coker, highlighted on the infrastructural contributions, security and social welfare favours from the late Eze Ohazulike.
