Top Igbo Leader and Convener of Igbo Peace Initiative , Chief Solomon Aguene, has slammed Chairman, Igbo Speaking Community Board Of Trustee (BOT), Dr. Jonathan Nnaji, Over his  public notice and directives Against purported joint meeting between Ndiezes of  the Igbo Speaking Community and Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos Chapter .

Chief Aguene ,who initially said that talking or exchanging fire works with Nnaji ,was waste of his saliva , however noted that he was amused after reading the public  notice, saying  that  “Chief Nnaji’s  obnoxious statement, was made out of jealousy , ignorance, lack of wisdom and knowledge”.

Correcting Nnaji’s wrong impression about the meeting , Chief Aguene revealed that the meeting  which was ongoing as at time of going to press , was “exclusive, meant for some notable , sensible, relevant , select frontline  Igbo leaders and Ndiezes from multiple platforms”.

The Igbo Leader, who queried Nnaji’s power to control Ndieze ,when there is a sitting President General (PG) of Igbo Speaking Community ,in the name of Chief Sunday Udeh  , challenged him to bring the proof of his franchise for Igbo Culture, customs and traditions, as  the monopoly that crowns Ndieze in diaspora  .

” Who gave him the monopoly  franchise to crown and control Ndiezes in Lagos State ? , did he get it from the Igbo Nation, his own ancestors in Enugu state, the Igbo Nation ancestors , Nri or South East?”, Aguene queried .

Lambasting Nnaji, Aguene , stated  that any self acclaimed Igbo leader in lagos, who have not impacted or made meaningful contribution to make Igbo residents better, should shut up or keep quiet forever .

He therefore challenged Nnaji to list his achievements and efforts to better the lots of Ndigbo in Lagos State since he allegedly hijacked the Igbo Speaking Community’s BOT Chairman’s office.

Aguene , who is also a United Nations  Peace Ambassador , accused Nnaji of extortion, saying  : “He  has been using Ndieze for too long  as his personal Company , whereas he is just a mere BOT Chairman, which is not a Limited liability Company, but I will stop him from now “, he threatened .

He asked ? “Can any Association be a father or  greater than Ohanaeze Ndigbo ?, the answer is capital No ! , so , Ndigbo can see now that Nnaji wants to have a first son before his own biological father , which is abomination and sacrilege “

According to him, “No matter what Nnaji claims , Igbo Speaking Community , so long as they have Igbos as members  are part of Ohanaeze and  is under Ohanaeze Ndigbo, which is the Apex , foremost Igbo Socio – Cultural Organization”, Aguene said.

Mocking Nnaji , Amb. Aguene , accused him of Selfishness and of being a Stomach infrastructure leader , who he said, survives through creating crisis in Igbo Speaking community and problems amongst Ndigbo.

He noted that Nnaji, has not been happy since Chief  Sunday  Eze  and Chief Sunday Udeh made peace and moved on.

Speaking further from Ohanaeze Ndigbo Secretariat, which is the venue of the said  meeting, Chief Aguene also lashed at Nnaji Saying this : ” Nnaji  is under the President General of Igbo Speaking , Chief Sunday Udeh ,but he is just creating crisis because he is looking for relevance and he has been there for so long for his stomach infrastructure .

But Iam going to stop him now”.

Explaining the standard practice in Igbo Nation, Aguene , fondly known as Udochia , said every Eze Ndigbo in Diaspora , irrespective of who or the Association that crowned him, are under Ohanaeze Ndigbo .

According to Udochia, “Nnaji  lacks the right, capacity or morality to control Ndieze, when Chief  Sunday Udeh, the President General is still in charge of Igbo Speaking Community .

“Nnaji claims he has authority from Corporate Affairs Commission ,CAC ,to crown Ezes, now I ask him ,where was his CAC power before the coming of  “Nri”, before the advent of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and before the advent of Igbo Nation?.

Advising Nnaji to stop creating and brewing  crisis amongst brothers ,  Aguene , stated that “Igbo Speaking Community Ndieze have had long history of harmonious relationship with Ohanaeze Ndigbo , from late Eze Hyacinth  Ohazulike, Eze Christian Nwachukwu, their then President, now  Eze Ubani . This was even exhibited when Governor Babajide Sanwolu was received and given an honor by Ohanaeze Ndigbo at the National Stadium”.

Inviting Nnaji to visit Ohanaeze  Secretariat and challenge him ,with a view of revealing  who gave him the Igbo Customs and tradition franchise  to crown and control Ndieze, Chief Aguene , said he was aware of Nnaji’s envy of his personality and leadership position .

He said, “I  have been expecting Nnaji’s Challenge since eight years ago,but I  pity Nnaji now, because it is too late for him in the scheme of affairs”.

Asked if Nnaji’s public statement which appears to sideline and counter Chief Udeh as PG, despite on going corporation between Ohanaeze Ndigbo leadership and Udeh, indicates another crack and crisis in Igbo Speaking Community ,Chief Aguene said “with Chief  Sunday Udeh supporting the peace initiatives as the administrative head of Igbo Speaking Community, Nnaji is not important and relevant”.

It would be recalled that the Board of Trustees (BOT)  of the Igbo Speaking Community had in a published public statement  disassociated itself from the meeting scheduled for Tuesday, 17th March, 2026, at Ohanaeze Secretariat in Surulere, Lagos.

Nnaji’s  Director of Media and Publicity , Chief Cyriacus Izuekwe, had  in the statement further stated that the BOT through their Chairman, Dr Jonathan Nnaji, had directed their own Council of Ezendigbo Lagos State, led by Eze Sir Ephraim Nnaemeka ,not to participate or send any representative to the meeting.

The statement read:

“ IGBO SPEAKING COMMUNITY, LAGOS OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

                   PUBLIC NOTICE

The Board of Trustees of the Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos, led by Dr Jonathan Nnaji, has been informed by Eze Ephraim, Acting Chairman of Council of Eze Ndigbo, Lagos, of a joint meeting requesting representation of five Ndieze from the Council for the meeting.

“The Board has advised the Council of Eze Ndigbo not to participate in this meeting, as it is not sanctioned by the Board. The Board therefore, dissociates itself from this meeting and its proceedings.”
