2025 LAGOS LG ELECTION : Protest Rocks Amuwo Odofin , As Labour Party Chairmanship Candidate, Engr. Seyi Ipinlaye,Accuses LASIEC Of Compromise,Allege Disenfranchisement Of Voters In His Strongholds. Watch Videos Below

There was early morning protests in some parts of Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area today, being July 12th, 2025, as many voters , especially those from the opposition political parties, protested alleged Disenfranchisement by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC.

In some of the areas visited, there was no polling boxes and LASIEC officials were not on ground to attend to the stranded voters even as at 12 noon.

In some polling Units in Festac,Apple Junction area and Villa Park area, some of the protesting voters alleged that there were scared by the Ruling Party, APC, adding that LASIEC officials failed to show up and did not activate some polling Units accredited for voting.

At the Villa Park Hotel, where some supporters of the Labour Party were seen gathering reports and monitoring the election outcome,our correspondent met their Chairmanship Candidate , Engineer Seyi Ipinlaye, who vowed to challenge the outcome of the election in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, if the alleged anomalies his Agents dictated were not corrected before announcement of election results.

Alleging deliberate Disenfranchisement Of Voters In His Strongholds, Engineer Ipinlaye accused Mr. E .O Abubarkar ,   the LASIEC official in charge of Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of compromise.

According to the Labour Party Chairmanship Candidate, as at 2:10 pm,  there was no polling Units in some of the areas in all his Strongholds.

He said: ” Voters are deliberately been disenfranchised in some of my Strongholds, because APC knows that they can not win us in a free and fair election, as Amuwo Odofin residents and voters are tired of their deceit and non performance in the Last 8 years, see the deplorable state of roads in Festac alone “.

Engineer Ipinlaye, also lamented that his party officials who made attempts to complain to LASIEC officials,were denied audience and entry into the local government headquarters .

” I have put several calls across to the LASIEC official, Mr. E .O   Abubarkar , but he neglected and or refused to take our calls,  contrary to the  promises LASIEC had earlier given to the  Opposition Political parties that they will be neutral”.

On his chances of emerging victorious in the election, Engineer Ipinlaye, stated that he is the choice of over 90 percent of the Voters In Amuwo Odofin Local government area, adding that if the anomalies are corrected and alleged plots to rig him out is averted, he will emerge victorious.

He however vowed to challenge the outcome of the process, if all the hidden polling Units, were added in the overall election results.
