Eze Ndigbo in Oriade LCDA,Eze Emmanuel Chukwuakalikamadu, has called on all Igbo leaders and residents in Lagos State, to apply caution and restraints, over the long drawn leadership tussel afflicting Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos State.

Eze Chimereze ,who enjoined all parties to the crisis,to go back to mediation table, maintained that Peaceful Reconciliation remained the best option for Igbo Unity, Resolution of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo crisis and not Counter Court Cases.

According to the Igbo Leader, his Royal advise became pertinent following the rumoured imminent legal fire works by Chief Sunday Ossai led faction, and perceived escalation of the ongoing leadership crisis, which has been bedeviling the Lagos branch of the Apex Pan Igbo Socio Cultural Organization , Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

The Reverred Peace Maker and Eze Ndigbo in Oriade LCDA, Eze Emmanuel Chukwuakalikamadu, who earlier this year was mandated by the Police Department at the Force Criminal Investigation , Intelligence Department,FCIID, Annex,Algbon Close, Ikoyi , passionately appealed to Ndigbo in Lagos State, especially the warring parties, to jettison Court actions and resort to peaceful mediation , so as to ensure enduring unity amongst the Igbo residents in Lagos State.

It would be recalled that few months ago, Peace appeared in the horizon for the warring Ohanaeze Ndigbo World Wide ,lagos State Chapter Factions, who have been at dagger drawn for sometime now, after  some notable, credible Igbo leaders, led by Eze Chukwuakalikamadu,  were mandated to make peace, when they were invited by the Police department at Alagbon Close, in connection with the ongoing fact finding and investigation by the Police.

At that meeting between the Lead Investigating Police Officer, the  Deputy Commissioner Of Police ,DCP Ime Udofia,he  had mandated the Igbo Leaders led by Eze Oriade LCDA,to  ensure peaceful mediation and resolution and report back to them within some weeks.

This peace mediation, Eze Emmanuel  Chukwuakalikamadu confirmed , was instituted as a four man Committee, made up of Eze Chukwuemeka Sylvanus  Onuoha,Ukwumba I of Bende, Eze Igbo of Igbolere Kingdom , Eze  Agunaechemba and synergized with some interested fellow Ndiezes, and other  well meaning Igbo Leaders, who formed a committee that conveyed a meeting ,with the sole aim of making peace amongst the Warring Ohanaeze Ndigbo factions.

Giving account of  his stewardship in the assignment entrusted to him and the committee by the Police department, Eze Oriade expressed disappointment at the war – war attitude of some self acclaimed Igbo leaders.

He specifically blamed and counseled Chief Uche Ubochi, to understand that “in brothers to brothers war, no group comes out without bruises”.

He cautioned Ubochi”to desist from making inflammatory statements that tend to divide Ndigbo, such as his disdain for and recent disrespect to the age long Institution of Eze Ndigbo in Diaspora”.

Speaking in an Interview with News Planet International earlier today, Eze Ndigbo in Oriade, said that his Committee was impressed and pleased when Chief Solomon Aguene and his group members made themselves available and seriously consented to peaceful mediation and resolution of the crisis .

He however regretted that all efforts, series of appointments and scheduled meetings dates agreed with Chief Sunday Ossai, was not honored.

His Committee attributed the failure of the peace meeting to Chief Uche Ubochi, who they alleged  thwarted and frustrated every arrangements to meet with Chief Sunday Ossai.

Blaming Chief Uche Ubochi for the collapse of the peace meeting, Eze Chukwuakalikamadu, who was before his coronation as Eze Ndigbo in Oriade LCDA, was Ohanaeze Ndigbo Chairman in Amuwo Odofin and Chairman of all Chairmen, seriously frowned at Uche Ubochi’s disrespect and disregard of the Institution of Eze Ndigbo in Diaspora.

He said : “After series of disappointments in our various scheduled appointments to meet with Chief Sunday Ossai, we sensed something was wrong, on enquires, we were directed to discuss with Chief Uche Ubochi, if we desire to meet with Chief Sunday Ossai. Being Peace Makers, we agreed and were in a telephone conference call discussion with Chief Uche Ubochi, along side with Chief Sunday Ossai’s Chief of Staff , however ,Chief  Uche Ubochi’s  repugnant manners, insults to the Ezes,  Ezeship institution, arrogance, boasting, ignorance of the working of Ohanaeze Ndigbo organization and beating of war drums , ended our discussion abruptly”.

News Planet International, recalls that  the Police were emphatic that whereby the peace overtures fails, the Law enforcement Agency, would institute a process, where those found wanting, will be prosecuted in line with the laws of the land.

It was also learnt that the Police department had formally written to the Judiciary,to find out the  authenticity of the Court consent Judgment submitted to them by one of the factions led by Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene.

Eze Chukwuakalikamadu , also recalled that the Police mandated him to ask the Warring Ohanaeze Ndigbo factions led by Chief Aguene and Chief Sunday Ossai, to sheath their swords and stop further meetings and offensive publications in the social media space, until the peace Committee concludes its outreach .

Some Ezes who pleaded anonymity, regretted the failure of the peace meeting, however ,noted that Eze Chukwuakalikamadu led peace talk was a welcomed tonic needed, which they agreed, received an appreciable and commendable support from many Igbo leaders and residents .

According to findings, Many Notable personalities of Igbo extraction, both home and Abroad, have appealed to the two contending groups and their Principal gladiators , to key into and work with the Eze Chukwuakalikamadu led peace Committee, so as to give peace a chance.

Moreso, to redeem the dwindling and sliding image and integrity of the Igbo Nation, which has been negatively battered by the ongoing brewing crisis and Brothers Against Brothers War”
